Patients, Staff and Visitors Must Continue To Wear Face Coverings in Healthcare Settings.....

England's Chief Nurse has today reminded the public that everyone accessing or visiting healthcare settings must continue to wear a face covering and follow social distancing rules.

Covid restrictions will end in many settings in England from Monday.

However, Public Health England's infection prevention control guidelines and hospital visiting guidance are set to remain in place for all staff and visitors.

That means NHS visitor guidance will stay in place across all health services including hospitals, GP practices, dental practices, optometrists and pharmacies to ensure patients and staff are protected.

Staff, patients and visitors will also be expected to continue to follow social distancing rules when visiting any care setting as well as using face coverings, mask and other personal protection equipment.

The NHS will continue to support staff in ensuring that the guidance is followed in all healthcare settings.

*To Mask or not to Mask?*

Dear patients,

Although government guidelines are changing from 19th July, making it generally optional for the public to wear face coverings, this practice will continue to provide a full range of PPE within the surgeries and will require all our patients to wear face covering in the common areas to minimise any risk of infection.

This is because the same guidance suggests caution and recommends ongoing wearing of masks in closed spaces, small and crowded areas and where vulnerable people will be present.

As you may be in close proximity to our clinicians and potentially other vulnerable patients when you come to us, we will continue to ask patients to wear masks on our premises until further notice. This is to minimise disruption to our service and ensure those most vulnerable are still protected when accessing care.

Latest News……..

• We aim to complete all the 2nd vaccinations for the staff at the practice by the end of April.

Until then we are still requesting patients comply with mouthwash and nasal swabs wherever possible.
• We will be introducing a new team member to reception from 1st May. Welcome Sharon!

• 100% of staff have had negative lateral flow tests as part of ongoing checks for transmissibility of the virus after vaccination. We started testing twice a week in January.

• We still require patients to adhere to the 2mtr rule and wear face masks in the surgery wherever possible until government guidelines change.
