*URGENT APPOINTMENT PROVISION*
We recently shared information regarding urgent appointment provision at the practice. For patients to book in, they must have a dental problem. This could be Pain/sensitivity, broken tooth, lost filling/crown, Sore/bleeding/inflamed gums, any soreness in your mouth, lesions in your mouth, lost/broken denture or any other issue which is a dental concern.

We now have a new facility for our patients to check in on arrival, using the tablet in our reception area.
Any patient attending for an appointment, who has already completed their forms via our online portal, can use the self check in service.

Museum Street Dental Practice has been undergoing some changes recently. The changes aim to increase the availability of NHS dental care in the local area. Recently we have been inundated with telephone calls and enquiries.
During the month of August we received a total of the following:

4,045 calls total call duration was 301 hours.

We are making changes to the options on our phone system.

Your calls are very important to us. To help us help you please:

1, Ensure you select the correct option when calling us.
2, For non-urgent enquiries, please call after 10 am.
3, When placed in a queue, if you do not wish to wait, please leave a message if prompted, or call back at a different time of day.
4, You can also contact us at [email protected]

Urgent enquiries are prioritised. It may take us longer to respond to non urgent enquiries.

Our dedicated receptionists work tirelessly every day to answer phone calls whilst also dealing with patients as they attend the practice for appointments. We ask you to be kind and patient. The practice has a zero-tolerance policy and any shouting or abusive behaviour shown towards our staff will not be tolerated.

Update for our Patients regarding Phone Lines:
We apologise, our phone lines are currently down for reasons beyond our control. Our internet provider is carrying out essential works outside of the building which has meant we have lost access to our internet and phone lines. We have been informed that they should be up and running at approximately 1:30pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please be reassured that Museum Street Dental Practice is not closing, and will continue to provide NHS dental care to our existing and new patients (subject to capacity - please see NHS choices website to review our most up-to-date capacity). The renovation work is primarily aimed at improving patient facilities and modernising what is an old building. The proposal is to introduce a new ground floor surgery to improve patient access and also expand the size of the existing waiting room and provide ground floor disabled toilet facilities. (The proposed residential development is utilising space not currently being used in the dental practice and is inappropriate for patient use).

TEMPORARY URGENT CARE ACCESS

If you are having any dental problems, we have additional sessions which are being funded temporarily through the NHS to provide assessments and treatment to patients who have a clinical need, but do not currently have a dentist. In these sessions patients can have dental issues assessed and treatment provided where appropriate however, we cannot offer routine appointments during these additional sessions.The sessions will be running throughout February and March outside of our normal working hours, please contact the surgery on 01925 630221 if you would like to book an appointment. Normal NHS charges apply.
