What’s the difference between 0.5mm and 0.75mm?
0.5mm
This is where reliable collagen stimulation begins.
Often used for texture, pores, and early signs of ageing.
For most skin types and general rejuvenation, this is the key working depth.
0.75mm
A deeper approach that creates a stronger dermal response.
Used for more noticeable texture, thicker skin, or early scarring where additional remodelling is beneficial.
This depth is not typically required in thinner or more delicate areas such as the forehead or around the eyes.
It is more commonly used in thicker areas like the cheeks, where the skin can tolerate a deeper, controlled response.
But the most important thing?
Going deeper doesn’t always mean better results.
0.5mm is already effective for collagen induction and is suitable for most facial rejuvenation treatments.
Deeper depths are not an upgrade in performance…
- they are used for specific indications and skin types.
Depth should always be chosen based on:
• the area treated
• skin thickness
• the concern being addressed
The skin is thinner than most people think.
