A smile transformation for World Smile Day 🦷✨

This gentleman came to Dr. Tom Rawlins with noticeably worn teeth, caused by significant clenching and grinding both during the day and at night.

We started by reducing the activity of the masseter muscles with Botox, carried out by Helen at facesthetics • AESTHETICS BY MEDICS •. This helped reduce the forces on his teeth and created a more favourable environment for his smile restoration, while also giving a subtle facial slimming effect.

We then restored the worn front teeth using injection moulded composite and the Dahl approach. This allowed us to gently open the bite and restore the natural length and shape of the teeth, without unnecessarily removing healthy tooth structure.

To help protect the new restorations and manage the effects of ongoing clenching and grinding, a dual arch B splint was also provided.

The result is a healthier, more balanced smile that looks natural and feels comfortable, with the added benefit of improving both function and confidence.

A lovely transformation and a reminder that restoring a smile is about so much more than aesthetics 💙
