Oral Health and Hygiene Training for Carers
In order to meet the needs of your clients, to comply with CQC requirements and to meet the NICE recommendations I offer training to carers working residential settings and who provide domiciliary support.
The in-person interactive training session will raise awareness of the importance of daily mouth care as well as giving practical advice for those people that are dependent or need assistance in oral care techniques.
It will provide carers with the knowledge and ability to deliver daily mouth care.
My training is bespoke to each care providersā requirements.
On successful completion of this course participants will be able to:
-Have a better understanding of how to assist with basic daily oral hygiene procedures and denture care
-Outline the potential effects of poor oral health on an individual's general health and well-being
-Have a better understanding of the mouth to include dental disease and recognise abnormalities
-Recognise the need for specialised mouth care and supporting people who require assistance
-If appropriate; Oral care and dementia. Coping strategies for residents with challenging behaviour towards mouth care.
-If appropriate; Provide Daily Mouth Care for dependent and medically compromised residents
