💙 World Mental Health Day | Looking out for each other

Today is a reminder that mental health matters, and that sometimes, simply knowing someone cares can make a real difference.

We all have difficult days. Behind every smile is a person, and you never really know what someone may be carrying.

So today, let’s look out for each other.
💬 Ask someone how they really are.
👂 Take the time to listen.
🤍 Check in on a friend, colleague or family member.
🌱 And remember to look after yourself, too.

If you are struggling, you don’t have to face it alone. There are people who are there to listen, without judgement:

Samaritans — call 116 123, free, 24/7
samaritans.org

Shout — text SHOUT to 85258 for free, confidential 24/7 support
Shout 85258

Mind — information, advice and support for mental health
Mind

You don't need to have the perfect words. Sometimes “Are you okay?” is a good place to start.

From all of us at Ocean Orthodontic Clinic, let’s keep looking out for each other. 💙

🦷 Dentist or Specialist Orthodontist — what’s the difference?

Both dentists and orthodontists play an important role in looking after your oral health, but their training and areas of expertise are different.

A dentist is trained to care for your overall oral health, including your teeth, gums and general dental needs. Some dentists also provide some orthodontic treatment.

A specialist orthodontist is a dentist who has completed additional specialist training focused specifically on orthodontics, including the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of irregularities in the position of the teeth and jaws.

At Ocean Orthodontic Clinic, our team is led by specialist orthodontist Dr Ansa Akram, who uses her specialist knowledge and experience to assess and treat every patient individually.

💙It’s not about one being better than the other, it’s about having the right professional for your specific needs.

If you are considering orthodontic treatment and would like to understand your options, we are always happy to help.

🦷 Retainer Check Reminder! 🦷

Heading to your retainer check appointment? Don’t forget to bring your retainers with you! 😊

Your retainers play an important role in keeping your teeth in their new positions after orthodontic treatment. Regular wear helps protect your results and reduce the risk of your teeth moving over time.

At your retainer check, we will check that your retainers are fitting well and are still doing their job, so please remember to bring all of your retainers with you to your appointment. 🦷✨

⚠️ Having a problem with your retainer?
If your retainer feels tight, uncomfortable, damaged, lost, or no longer fits properly, please contact us to arrange an appointment sooner rather than waiting for your routine retainer check.
