Dear patients and clients,
The whole team at TOPS Dental Care hope that you are well and keeping safe.
We are now in the second week of this second period of lockdown. We are pleased with the fact that the Government is allowing dental practices to remain open, contrary to what happened during the first lockdown in Spring.
This means that the practice is open and operating in the same way as it has been since reopening in July. Those of you who have visited the practice since, will have noticed the safety measures we have put in place to protect you and our staff from the virus. More information about this will be found at the end of this update.
Since we reopened in July, our early focus was to help those of you with problems requiring urgent attention. We were then pleased to start seeing patients for routine examinations and teeth scaling, and go through the backlog of appointments rescheduled due to lockdown. Please let us know if you are still waiting for your cancelled appointment to be rescheduled. Over the past few weeks, we have also resumed the more complex treatment procedures which now require special protective equipment. This means that with the exception of scale and polish procedures, which will continue to be performed with manual instruments, the practice is now able to offer its full array of treatments again. So, do not hesitate to get in touch if you need our help.
As you visit the practice, your safety and that of our staff remains our priority. Below is a reminder of some of the pandemic-related measures and precautions currently in place at TOPS Dental Care:
• All visits to the practice need to be pre-booked;
• Prior to your visit, we will go through a screening process with you;
• Please arrive no sooner than 10 minutes before your appointment time. You will need to wait outside the practice if you are too early;
• Call us on 01684293 933 to let us know when you arrive at the car park or outside the building;
• We will ask you to enter the practice alone (with the exception of children and patients in need of support or supervision) and with minimal belongings;
• We will ask you to wear a face covering inside the practice (your own, or one we provide);
• A distance of at least 2 metres must be observed inside the practice;
• Staff will avoid shaking hands;
• On your arrival, a member of staff will take your temperature with a non-contact thermometer, invite you to clean your hands with hand gel, and es**rt you directly into the dental surgery;
• Payments will be by cards, preferably. Please let us know if you are unable to pay by card;
• Toilet facilities are not currently in operation at the practice, so please make suitable arrangements before your visit.
We would like to thank you for your continuing patience, understanding and support as the practice adjusts and adapts to the new reality imposed by the pandemic.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
The TOPS Dental Care Team
