We’re delighted to announce that we have a new experienced dentist joining the team from the 28th October, Andy Neison. Initially Andy will only be able to see private patients until NHS Highland award a list number. It is anticipated that Andy will get an NHS list from the Health Board later this year and be able to attend to our NHS patients from then. At present he has good availability for October and November so if anyone is seeking private registration/treatment please contact our reception on 01862890065 or [email protected].

From today the Scottish Government have introduced a new NHS dental system, with significant changes. There is more flexibility to use some more modern materials for patients, and the system has been somewhat simplified. The same exemptions from NHS charges that existed before are still available , and the NHS maximum charge remains at £384, however some NHS patient charges for individual treatments have risen significantly. Patients should also be aware that routine check ups are now no longer available every 6 months on the NHS and can only be carried out annually or at longer intervals. Please bear with us as we work with these changes as they are significantly different for our staff. Details of some of the new charges are attached here.

Congratulations to Rachel Jackson who has successfully completed her vocational training year within the practice. Rachel finished up this week and is moving on to continue her career in a practice in Aberdeen. We’ve all loved having her back here for the year. Best of luck!

NHS REGISTRATION AVAILABLE

We’ve been really fortunate to recruit two lovely new dentists to the practice who will be starting in August, Shaun Dempsey and Beth Cunningham.

As a result of this expansion of our service we will be able to offer NHS registration for a limited period with these new dentists. If you would like NHS registration please call our reception on 01862890065 to arrange an examination appointment.
