Dr. Monica Neil is currently accepting new referrals for Specialist Paediatric Dental care at the Confident Dental & Implant Clinics in Stroud and Clevelands, Bishop’s Cleeve in Gloucestershire. Monica is also a hospital Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer working at Cardiff University Dental Hospital and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales. She was previously a Consultant at Chelsea & We

stminster Hospital, London for two years. Monica has worked as a Specialist Paediatric Dentist at Great Ormond Street Hospital where she was the first dentist to be nominated for a prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital Staff Award. She completed her Specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry at Guy’s Hospital, London, passing her Membership in Paediatric Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has also passed an MSc in Paediatric Dentistry with Merit from King’s College, London which has helped to ensure she is providing evidence based dentistry to an optimal standard. Monica completed her Consultant training at the Eastman Dental Institute, UCLH, London and has also worked as Paediatric Dentist on the Surrey Multidisciplinary team for children with Cleft Lip and/or Palate for six years and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Her research has been published in internationally renowned journals including the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry and she has been invited to speak across the world including Germany, Korea and Switzerland. She has won multiple national and regional prizes including two prizes awarded by the British Dental Association.

It has been a privilege to conclude my three-year term as Chair of the Consultants in Paediatric Dentistry Group. Having served as Secretary for three years prior, leading this national body for the past six years has been a fab highlight of my career so far. 🦷❤️
My final meeting as Chair was at the at another brilliant conference followed by dinner with consultant colleagues & friends. 🥰
I’m immensely proud of my specialty and look forward to supporting its continued growth. 🤩

Here are a few tips to help you look after your children’s oral health this Christmas:
🦷 Stick to a brushing routine. Christmas can be a busy time with a disruption to your usual family routine, late nights and excitement. It can be easy to forget about toothbrushing. Make sure your child brushes twice a day for at least two minutes, using a fluoride toothpaste. This will help protect against tooth decay.
🦷 Limit sugary snacks and drinks. Try not to let your child snack on sugary foods throughout the day. Encourage water after any sweet treats and try to keep sweets at meal times.
🦷 Schedule a post-Christmas Specialist Paediatric Dental examination. I can help identify any early signs of tooth decay.
Start the year 2025 on a positive note with prioritising your child’s health and make an appointment to see me
