Due to one of our dental nurses being accepted into Uni to become a dentist. We are currently seeking a qualified or trainee dental nurse to work alongside our experienced dentists and dental therapists in our fully modernised, well equipped practice.

Wherther your're fully qualified or just starting out, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a positive and professional enviorment.

This position is available full or part-time. Hours can be discussed.

We are a supportive and welcoming team.

Full training will be provided for trainee candiates. Opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with both dentists and therapists.

This is just a wee reminder that we are still taking new NHS patients.

We do not have long waiting times. We also offer late night appointments.

Avonsmiles Dental Pracice will be closed for Easter Weekend on Friday 18th of April and Monday 21st of April.

If you are an NHS patient and have a dental emergency over the Easter weekend please call NHS 24 on 111.
Denplan patients please call 0800 844 999.

The practice will re-open on Tuesday 22nd of April at 9am.

Due to the red weather warning which has been issued for this area. NHS Lanarkshire has advised us to cancel all non-urgent treatment for Friday 24th of Jan 2025.
We are attempting to contact all patients that have an appointment for Friday. If you could all please check your voicemail.
If you are not contacted and do not require urgent care, please do not take any risks travelling to the practice.
We will be contacting everyone to rearrange your appointments.
If you have an urgent emergency and feel you are unable to wait until the practice opens on Monday 27th of January 2025 please call 01357 520185 and listen to the instruction, you can also leave a message and we will respond to your message.

Meet our Dental Therapist's

Jennifer and Susan.

Having two dental therapists in the practice means we are able to offer more appointments and more days that suit our patient's.

At the moment Jennifer is on maternity leave but is due to start back in April 2025. Susan is currently working 4 days a week. Once Jennifer is back in April we will have a dental therapist available Monday - Friday.

You may wonder what a dental therapsit is?

A dental therapist is someone who can perform a variety of treatments including fillings, toothwhiteing, extractions on decidous teeth (baby teeth)- This is referred by your dentist when you attend for a dental examination.

They can provide patients with advice on how to care for their teeth and gums, including tooth brushing, interdental cleaning techniques and dietary advice. They can also offer advice on how to stop smoking.

Dental therapist can carry out periodontal examination and treat gum disease.

Both of our dental therapists have direct access which means you are able to see the dental therapist for a private scale and polish without having to see a dentist.
