With Fixed Brace it’s important your careful with foods you eat. You should avoid hard, sticky, crunchy, and chewy foods. These can snap the wires or pop the brackets off your teeth, which extends your treatment time. Try to avoid these items: Sticky & Chewy Foods: Chewing gum, caramels, toffees, licorice, and chewy sweets.Hard & Crunchy Foods: Nuts, popcorn, ice, and hard sweets (e.g., cola cubes).Tough Breads: Crusty rolls, sourdough baguettes, bagels, and pizza crusts. Crisps & Snacks: Tortilla chips, hard pretzels, and thick-cut crisps.Certain Meats & Veggies: Meat on the bone (like chicken wings or ribs) and whole raw apples or carrots.
