🍌 FRUIT IS GREAT, BUT TIMING MATTERS

Fresh fruit contains natural sugars, so rather than offering fruit little and often throughout the day, try including it as part of a meal.

For example, add berries or banana to breakfast, or include a portion of fresh fruit with lunch.

🍪 WHAT ABOUT SWEET TREATS?

Biscuits, cakes, chocolate, dried fruit and other sugary snacks are best kept to mealtimes, rather than being eaten between meals.

Why? 🦷 Every time we eat sugary foods, our teeth are exposed to an acid attack. Giving teeth time between eating occasions helps them recover.

🥤 AND DON'T FORGET DRINKS!

Water and plain milk are great choices between meals. Try to avoid regularly sipping juice, squash or fizzy drinks throughout the day, even if they're labelled "no added sugar".

💡 OUR SIMPLE LUNCHBOX FORMULA:

🥪 A filling meal
🥕 A savoury snack
🍎 Fresh fruit or vegetables
🧀 Something dairy-based
💧 Water

And remember, you don't need a perfect lunchbox. Small, consistent choices can make a big difference to your child's oral health.
