UPDATE:
All sorted, phones running as normal once more.

PHONE LINE PROBLEMS MONDAY AND TUESDAY 4/5 August - we are sorry but we are having difficulties with our phone and internet lines at the moment. A call diversion is in place but that is a little challenging with our poor mobile signal in the practice so please bear with us. Hopefully it will be sorted today. We are open as normal

Why we are still asking you to wear a mask in the practice after July 19th

It's great news for many that restrictions on everyday life are being lifted further and we can get back to doing some more of the things that we used to do. The vaccination programme has achieved a great deal in weakening the link between Covid infection and hospitalisation or worse for most people and it means that we can each now decide the level of personal risk and exposure we each are happy with, rather than having it decided for us. As we know infection numbers will rise but if the authorities are right then without the disastrous consequences for the nation of the last 12 months: time will tell.
There are however a great many people in our community who are still at serious risk should they be infected with Covid-19, and whilst those people may well choose to minimise their personal risk and avoid the newly re-opened and derestricted clubs, pubs, restaurants, cinemas and sports events, etc. they cannot avoid healthcare settings. Seeing a dentist when you have a dental problem is not optional, just as going to a hospital or doctor when you are ill is not.
With this in mind we will be continuing to ask you to wear a mask and to respect our social distancing guidance in the practice. We will continue to screen patients at booking and entry, which will remain by appointment only. Enhanced PPE for staff and extra decontamination steps and time will remain in place, as they have been to good effect for the last year, until we are advised by the authorities that inspect and regulate us that it is reasonable to do otherwise in healthcare settings, which is unlikely to be anytime soon.
Hopefully this will put your mind at rest and will explain why some of the changes in society are not mirrored quite so quickly or completely within healthcare. Though dentistry remains a little more difficult and complicated at the moment, we are able to provide the full range of care and treatments that we were prior to the pandemic.

A little recent tooth repair. The tooth had become sensitive because a very old filling was leaking and causing trouble, so we removed and replaced it, and took the opportunity to tidy up the tooth in the process too.
