Happy Easter to you all 🐣
The Tiny Tooth Fairy gives you all permission today for some choccy treats 🍫
The average chocolate easter egg contains 46g of sugar.... so please remember to protect those pearly whites 🦷
Here are some tips from The Tiny Tooth Fairy:
Try to eat chocolate at mealtimes, don’t graze - this reduces the amount of sugar attacks and gives your teeth chance to remineralise.
Wait to brush- You may think that you’re doing the right thing by brushing your teeth straight after enjoying chocolate, but you could actually be doing more harm. The acid softens the enamel, so brushing when there is still acid in your mouth can help wear away the enamel. Wait at least 30 minutes after eating sugary foods to give your saliva time to neutralise.
Drink water- by drinking water it will produce saliva in the mouth that will help to rinse away any plaque, bacteria and debris. Water is the healthiest drinking option for a child to wash down an Easter egg.
Follow a healthy oral routine - brush morning and night and visit your dentist for regular examinations.
