Excited to announce our new course - 11th April 2026 (venue The Liverpool Brace Place)
Aims:
📌To introduce the principles of minimally invasive periodontal instrumentation and clarify how these relate to delegates’ existing non‑surgical therapy skills (Outcome C).
📌To refresh and update existing knowledge of hand and ultrasonic instrumentation, including current concepts, tip and instrument design, and safe, effective use in periodontal care (Outcome C).
📌To support delegates to reflect on and refine their current perio protocols, identifying changes that move practice towards a more minimally invasive, patient‑centred approach (Outcomes B, C).
Learning objectives:
By the end of the workshop, participants will have had the opportunity to:
📌Outline the core concepts of minimally invasive non‑surgical periodontal therapy and describe how these build on conventional root surface instrumentation, – GDC outcomes C.
📌Review current hand and ultrasonic instrument designs (including slimline and miniature tips) and discuss when and why they might be selected for different clinical presentations – GDC outcomes C.
📌Observe and practise fundamental ergonomic principles (grip, fulcrum, stroke, clinician and patient positioning) to enhance comfort and control during periodontal debridement – GDC outcomes B, C.
📌Revisit key parameters for safe ultrasonic use (power and water settings, tip wear checks, contraindications and precautions) and relate these to typical cases in their own practice – GDC outcomes C, D.
📌Identify where minimally invasive concepts can be integrated into existing workflows – GDC outcomes B, C.
📌Understand the appropriate protocols required for effective periodontal procedures and how they can be implemented into practice- GDC outcomes A, B.
