I absolutely love challenges like this. New patient, emergency, fractured tooth snowboarding. How to go about rebuilding? A huge build up like this would be much easier with a template which we obviously don’t have, so this was built freehand using a layered approach, hardwearing Venus Pearl composite resin in A2, A1 and CL. Polished and shaped with diamond burs and polishing disks and wheels. Scan taken (so we can get a stent made in the future if needed) and a mouth guard to protect those teeth from further damage (I noted the patient has considerable lower incisal toothwear for his age, he is likely grinding (bruxing) at night. We will look at this in more detail at his review appointment, as it’s often not just as simple as rebuilding a tooth and assuming it won’t get broken off again.

Haven’t posted anything in a hot minute… but it’s January so new year new motivation to post some of my cases for you guys to see. Here’s a case of mine from earlier this week,
Having recently completed Invisalign with me, this patient wanted to even the edges of his teeth. Before we started his Invisalign he was convinced he wanted composite bonding for all of his teeth. As you can see, when we finished aligning and bleaching, all that he really needed was composite bonding for both upper lateral incisors.

Minimally invasive, gentle, considerate treatment can give fantastically beautiful results. There is often no need for dramatic and destructive treatments that are sadly becoming more common in todays world of instant gratification. This takes time. But the time it lasts and the time the teeth are preserved is a trade off I think is well worth it.

I am absolutely gutted that someone would take our beautiful trees. They were not particularly special but they were a little piece of our practice and made our entrance look welcoming for our patients and visitors.

STOLEN OVER CHRISTMAS!! 😥

Has anyone seen these trees over the last few days? Our lovely trees have been taken from outside the front of our practice have been stolen. They are artificial trees in tall grey pots, with white, grey and copper stones and have been concreted in so they are quite heavy, they must have taken at least two people to carry them. We had them decorated with fairy lights for Christmas. They have been outside our building for about 18 months with no problems, and we came into work this morning and they have been taken. They must have been taken at some point after 5 on Christmas Eve and early this morning, from Bridgeways Dental on Rumbridge Street.

We are absolutely gutted that someone would feel the need to take something that doesn't belong to them especially over Christmas. Any info please let us know.
