🌊 Week 4: Neil’s Clipper Race Adventure – CHAMPIONS MODE 🔥
What a week… and what a RESULT.
Team GOSH didn’t just finish — they absolutely stormed Stage 10 and took the win 🏆
🥇 1st – Team GOSH: 15 days 17 hrs 49 min
🥈 2nd – Seattle: 16 days 58 min
🥉 3rd – London Business School: 16 days 5 hrs 08 min
From relentless ocean miles to that finish line moment ,this is what it’s all about. After the win, most teams would switch off and motor… but not this crew. With perfect conditions, they kept sailing, meeting up with other boats and even working together, taking turns to tow and conserve fuel.
And yes finally Neil made his Clipper socials debut 👀
A glimpse at the helm, right where he belongs.
Wildlife & WOW moments this week 🐬🐢⚡
Giant turtles drifting alongside the boat
Dolphins singing as they surfed the waves
A mid-ocean swim stop (yes… actually stopping in the middle of the ocean 😳)
And then… the mother of all electrical storms lightning shows, torrential rain, followed by intense heat
From soaking wet to scorching hot in hours. No in-between.
Life onboard = next level endurance 🥵
Below deck has turned into a full-on sweatbox. Fans are non-negotiable, sleep is limited, and energy is low.
But the work? It doesn’t stop.
Even Neil, who tried to resist, has now given in to the ice pops 🍦
Because when you’re racing across the Pacific… you do whatever it takes to stay cool.
Maintenance mode 🔧
Switching between sail and motor means it’s time for the less glamorous jobs:
Winches stripped and cleaned (salt gets everywhere) but a handy toothbrush 🪥 rescues the day!
Sails ⛵️ repaired which is no easy job.
And Neil putting those precision suturing 🪡 skills to work, stitching sails back together like a pro.
When they do get a moment, it’s all about team fun:
“Murder” game (don’t worry… no one went overboard 😅)
Pictionary battles: Baywatch vs Neighbourhood Watch
And for the record…
Neil’s team lost by ONE point. So no, he’s not winning at everything 😉
What’s next? 🚩
➡️ Heading into Panama (ETA 26th May)
➡️ Through the iconic Panama Canal
➡️ Then straight into Race 11 (2nd June)
Upwind through the Caribbean
Past Florida
Finishing in Washington
And you already know the goal another podium finish 👊
This isn’t just a race.
It’s resilience, teamwork, exhaustion, adrenaline, and moments Neil will never forget.
The adventure continues…
Eat 🍽️. Sail ⛵️. Sleep 🛌 . Repeat.
