This lovely patient came to see me concerned about the worn, flattened edges of the front teeth. Clinical examination showed significant incisal wear across the four upper incisors, together with a loss of canine guidance, contributing to both functional and aesthetic concerns.

After careful planning with a handcrafted diagnostic wax-up, we slightly increased the occlusal vertical dimension to create the ideal restorative space. We then restored the natural length and shape of the front teeth while re-establishing canine guidance to protect the new restorations and improve function.

The result? A smile that looks natural, feels comfortable, and is ready for their big day. ✨

White Spot Lesion…

This patient presented with a white spot lesion on the upper left central incisor and was looking for the most conservative treatment option possible.

After discussing the available options, we decided to start with ICON resin infiltration. I explained that while ICON can achieve excellent results, the outcome is never guaranteed and composite bonding may still be required if the lesion remains visible.

The treatment involved six applications of the ICON etching gel and six drying cycles before we achieved the level of improvement shown here. As you can see from the step-by-step images, patience and careful assessment throughout the procedure were key to reaching the final result.

The best part? We were able to achieve a significant improvement without removing healthy tooth structure and without the need for composite bonding.

The final transillumination images are particularly interesting. Before treatment, the lesion can clearly be seen within the enamel. Following resin infiltration, the lesion is no longer visually apparent, demonstrating how effectively the refractive properties of the enamel have been restored.

A great example of how minimally invasive dentistry can deliver excellent aesthetic outcomes while preserving natural tooth tissue.

With a summer holiday just around the corner, this patient wanted their smile to be confident, radiant, and ready for every photo, every laugh, every memory.

They had already completed orthodontic treatment, so the foundation was in place. But as is often the case, it’s the final details that make all the difference. There were a few small imperfections—slight unevenness along the upper edges, some chipped areas, and a yellowish tone that didn’t quite match the brightness they were looking for.

We began by refreshing the overall shade with Boutique whitening, lifting the discolouration, and creating a clean, bright base. Then came the artistry. Using composite bonding on the upper six teeth, we carefully refined the edges, balanced proportions, and enhanced the smile line. The lower canines were also treated to improve the guidance and gently close spaces, bringing both function and aesthetics into harmony.

The result? A naturally enhanced smile that still feels like them—just more polished, more balanced, and ready for sunshine, celebrations, and unforgettable moments.

Every smile has a story — and this one was about small details that made a big difference.

This patient attended feeling conscious of the dark/greyish teeth and worn fillings at the front, along with the small gaps that had developed over time. They were unsure whether the existing crown needed replacing, but wanted an overall fresher, more harmonious smile.

A conservative, staged approach was chosen.

We began with whitening to gently lift the overall shade. The old anterior fillings were then replaced with new composites to restore a natural appearance. Finally, two freehand composite veneers were placed to close the black triangles, reduce grey undertones, and create a more seamless blend.

No unnecessary treatment — just a thoughtful, minimally invasive approach tailored to the patient.
