🔹 Avoid kissing or close contact while you have an active cold sore
🔹 Don’t share cups, cutlery, lip balm or toothbrushes
🔹 Wash your hands regularly and avoid touching the sore
🔹 If you have an active cold sore, it’s best to rearrange your dental appointment to reduce the risk of spreading the virus and to avoid irritating the area.

💡 Remember: Cold sores are usually caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) and can be triggered by stress, illness, tiredness or sun exposure.
