Some information for those affected by the recent shutting down of Smile Direct Club:

As many people are aware, the mail order aligner company 'Smile Direct Club' closed down with immediate effect over the weekend, leaving many patients stranded mid-treatment.

We have had several enquiries this week from patients who have been affected by this and are now seeking alternative options, so we thought it would therefore be useful to post some information about how we can assist!

If you were using the Smile Direct Club system and have had your treatment disrupted, we would be more than happy to see you for a free no-obligation consultation to discuss your options with a view to taking over your orthodontic care.

During the recent high winds our lovely practice logo unfortunately fell off the front of the building. We were unable to put the sign back up as after it fell, someone stole several letters from it.

We apologise for the current untidy appearence of the practice as a result of this, but we will have a nice new sign in place as soon as possible!

A message to all our patients:

Despite the new lockdown measures we are pleased to say we will continue to remain open as usual. As has been the case since the first lockdown, we will continue to provide a safe environment for everyone in which we have all the required PPE.

If you or any household members have tested positive for Covid, or have symptoms of Covid, then you must NOT attend the practice. If you have an appointment which for this reason you cannot attend then please contact us to cancel the appointment.

We would also like to add that we had some building works carried out over the Christmas period and as a result some parts of the practice may look a little untidy compared to usual, so we offer our apologise for this.

A message to our NHS patients and their parents/carers:

We hope you are all keeping safe and well.

We have now made efforts to contact all our patients currently in treatment with a brace on to arrange the next routine appointment.

If though you or your child have a brace on, but have not seen us since the first lockdown ended, then please contact the practice on 01724 844811 and we can arange an appointment.

For those parents/carers who are waiting for your child to be seen as a new NHS orthodontic case we will provide an update as soon as we can on when we are able to restart new cases. Since the first lockdown we had no to postpone all new NHS cases in order to concentrate on those patients already in treatment, but we are hoping that we will be able to start new cases in the not too distant future.

Exact timescales are still an unknown, but please rest assured we will provide an update on this as soon as we are able to.

An update to our patients:

Following the prime ministers announcement yesterday, there is no indication that dental services will be effected thankfully. As such, if you have an upcoming appointment then you can still attend unless we contact you to state otherwise.

Although we have seen a significant rise in cases across the country, please rest assured that the practice is doing all we can to keep everyone safe.

An update for our patients:

Since we reopened our doors on the 3rd July the whole team have worked incredibly hard to get through the large backlog of emergency and urgent appointments, as well as ensuring the practice is safe for both staff and patients.

Over the last 2 months we have gradually reintroduced routine care and we are now in the process of rebooking all patients in active orthodontic treatment.

Although things are far from being back to normal, this is a big step in the right direction!

If your child is waiting for an appointment prior to starting treatment (such as a new assessment, a pre-treatment review, orthodontic records or a treatment plan appointment) then we are unfortunately not able to rebook these currently. Before starting new cases we have to ensure all NHS patients in active treatment are seen to and put back on track following the lockdown, but as soon as this situation changes we will be in touch to rebook these appointments.

If you have a child on the NHS waiting list and would like more information on options to go private then please feel free to contact treatment coordinator and practice manager Oliver at our head office The Forum on 01427 615117 or email [email protected].

If you are on our waiting list for contact regarding a routine appointment then we will be in touch, however do feel free to contact us on 01724 844811 to rebook now if you’d like.

An update for our patients:

We are very happy to be back up and running and seeing our wonderful patients again. We have made a great deal of changes to the way we operate in order to keep both staff and patients safe and anyone booking in will be given details of what to expect on the day.

Our team are working really hard to get through the backlog of patients requiring appointments since lockdown so we really appreciate the patience of everyone waiting to be rebooked.
