One year ago today, the Mayor cut the ribbon and Aura Dental opened its doors on Sandy High Street 🎂

What a year. 65 Google reviews at 4.9 stars, a Silver at the SME Bedfordshire Business Awards, and so many lovely faces we now look forward to seeing. We even raised £210 for charity on opening day.

Thank you to every single person who trusted us with their smile, sent a friend our way or simply popped in to say hello. We can't wait for year two 🤍

How should we celebrate? 🎉

One of our patients told us nature documentaries help her relax. So at her next appointment, one was already playing on the screen before she sat down 🦌

World Mental Health Day is tomorrow, and dental nerves are far more common than people admit. We'd much rather know what helps you than have you gripping the chair in silence.

So tell us. Your favourite show on the screen, a stop signal, more breaks, every step explained before we start, or our adrenaline-free anaesthetic if the usual kind leaves your heart racing. Small things, but they add up to a much calmer visit.

What helps you feel calm at the dentist? ☺️

Here's something nobody tells you about quitting smoking... your gums might bleed a little more at first.

Sounds worrying, but it's usually a good sign. Smoking narrows the blood vessels in your gums, which can hide the early signs of gum disease. Once you stop, the blood flow starts coming back and your gums finally get a chance to heal.

Keep brushing gently, keep flossing, and pop in for a hygiene visit so we can help things settle. If the bleeding carries on for more than a few weeks, let us know and we'll take a look.

Doing Stoptober this year? We're cheering you on 💛

See it first, then decide 🤍

This is the bit that makes SmileFast different. Before anything's made real, we place a trial version of your new smile straight over your own teeth, so you can look, react, and change your mind if you want to.

No guesswork, no big reveal you're stuck with. You approve it first, then we bring it to life, usually in one appointment ⌛️

Curious what yours could look like? Let's design it! ☺️

Just had your teeth whitened? The first day or two is when they stain the easiest, so it's worth going a bit beige for a bit ☺️

Water, pale food, and a straw if you cave and grab an iced coffee. The sneaky stainers catch people out too: soy sauce, balsamic, beetroot, even green tea.

Red w**e, coffee and curry can wait 48 hours. Your brighter smile will thank you for it 💎

Thinking about whitening? Come and have a chat! ✨

Implants look and function just like natural teeth ✨

When a tooth is missing, an implant replaces it properly, right down to the root. A small titanium post sits in the jaw and holds a crown made to match the teeth around it, in shape, size and shade.

The result is something you can eat, talk and smile with exactly as you would your own. Most people forget which tooth it even was.

Missing a tooth, or living with a gap you've got used to? Come in for a chat and we'll talk you through your options! ☺️
