Here at Cathedral Close, our highly qualified, specialist dental team can perform Oral Surgery for patients who require it.
Thanks to our experienced, skilled and trained team complex treatments that may otherwise need to be carried out outside of the practice, such as in hospital, can be conducted here at Cathedral Close.
This includes treatments such as:
• Removal of impacted teeth
• Wisdom (third molar) tooth extraction
• Other difficult extractions
• Sinus lifts
*Removal of Impacted Teeth*
The removal of impacted teeth requires surgical extraction as they are buried beneath the gums, either partially visible or completely covered.
Anaesthetic will be administered so you won’t feel a thing while the 30-60 minute procedure is taking place. We gently uncover and remove the tooth before packing the area.
*Wisdom Tooth extraction*
Wisdom tooth extraction (or third molar extraction as it’s also known) is a relatively common treatment, but is only necessary when the patient has an already overcrowded mouth, or when the teeth are impacted or infected.
It is carried out carefully and gently using dental tools under local anaesthetic.
*Sinus Lift*
A sinus lift is a treatment carried out in order to then successfully perform a dental implant procedure.
In some patients, a loss of bone in the sinus cavity can prevent a dental implant from being viable, but with a sinus lift we can treat the issue before going on to successfully insert dental implants as needed.
