Meet Dr Ballin – Consultant Anaesthesiologist

For many patients, the thought of dental treatment can bring feelings of anxiety or uncertainty. Having an experienced, reassuring professional by your side can make all the difference. That’s where Dr Ballin comes in.

Over 35,000 anaesthetics and decades of experience.

Dr Ballin qualified in Medicine from the Victoria University of Manchester in 1990, before completing a further eight years of specialist training across Manchester and Merseyside. In 1998, he became one of the youngest consultants at the time, achieving dual accreditation in Anaesthesia and Critical (Intensive) Care. Since then, he has administered more than 35,000 anaesthetics across both the NHS and private sector.

As a Senior Consultant in Anaesthesia and Critical Care, his specialist interests include dental, paediatric, obstetric and orthopaedic anaesthesia, as well as pre-operative assessment. It’s this depth of experience that Dr Ballin brings to our patients, helping them feel safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout their treatment.

Away from medicine

Despite an extensive medical career, away from work Dr Ballin enjoys the same things many of us do – football, golf and spending time away from the pressures of work. He is an avid Manchester City supporter and enjoys following his team whenever he gets the opportunity. When he's not watching football, you'll often find him on the golf course. Golf gives him the chance to switch off, enjoy some fresh air and, like most golfers, miss easy shots.

How long do dental implants take? 🦷

Dental implant treatment is a journey, and understanding the timeline can help you know what to expect.

For a single implant, treatment typically takes around 3–6 months, allowing time for the implant to securely fuse with the jawbone. However, every smile is different, and some treatments may be quicker, while others may require additional procedures such as bone grafting.
