“My teeth look clean. My smile looks healthy. Do I really need the hygienist?” 🦷
Sound familiar?
Our patient thought the same. After a reassuring dental visit , despite dentist recommendations, she felt her teeth were fine and didn’t think a hygiene appointment was necessary.
It had been a 16 months since her last hygiene visit. But her gums were bleeding more, despite her efforts at home—and she was getting worried.
She called us in panic and sent the videos over .. Our hygienist Cathy listened, reassured her and invited her in so they can assess her gums, talk through her home-care routine and plan the next steps together. 💙
A healthy-looking smile can hide a different story. Dental check-ups and hygiene care go hand in hand. Keeping up with the visits recommended for you matters—even when your teeth look clean.
If your gums bleed when you brush, or you’ve been thinking, “I’ll book it soon,” take this as your reminder. No embarrassment, no judgement—just support to help you care for your smile.
You can book directly with Cathy. You don’t need a dentist’s referral, to be registered with a dentist or to be an existing Wight Clinic patient (just like this situation)
Thank you to our patient for letting us share her experience to help others. 💙
