Dear Patients,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to share the sad news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend Dr. Louise Lunness-Barnes, who passed away peacefully on the 4th July 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Louise was a kind, thoughtful and compassionate woman who loved her work, she established the clinic in 1990 and was passionate about treating her patients. Louise's commitment to patient care and her pursuit of excellence left a strong mark on all of us who had the privilege to work alongside her.

Beyond the clinic, her stories about her canine companions brought laughter and warmth to our workplace, reminding us of the simple joys that life can offer. When not at the clinic, Louise spent her time at her residence in Norfolk with her husband Neville and their dogs, enjoying nature and the beautiful surroundings of their home.

Louise's absence will be deeply felt, and her lagacy will live on in the many lives she touched - patients, colleagues, and friends alike. Louise left for her treatment almost two years ago and since then, the team and I have strived to provide our patients with the best care possible. We are fully committed to continuing this going forward.

We understand this news may come as a shock, and we encourage anyone who wishes to share memories or messages to do so. We will be collecting messages to pass along to her family and have a book in the waiting room for anyone who wishes to do so.

On behalf of our entire team, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time. As we grieve this tremendous loss, let us also celebrate the life she lived and the joy she brought to the practice.

With deepest sympathy,

Sarina

A healthy diet is good for your body. Its also great news for your smile. What you eat and how often you eat it can have a big impact on your oral health.

While a balanced diet packed with vitamins and minerals can yield positive effects, there are foods and drinks you need to avoid.

one of the biggest dangers to your oral health is sugar.

Sugar damages your teeth and causes tooth decay. Over time, this often leads to fillings or even tooth extractions.

The best way you can avoid the harm caused by sugar is to limit the amount of sugar you eat or drink. it is also important to limit the number of times during the day that your mouth is exposed to sugar.

This means keeping any sugar consumption to mealtimes. smacking on sugar in between meals is one of the biggest dangers to your mouth. It is better for your teeth if you eat three meals a day rather than having snacks. If you do need to have snacks between meals, choose foods that do not contain sugar. Fruit does contain acids, which can erode your teeth. However, this is only damaging to your teeth if you eat an unusually large amount. Try not to have a lot of dried fruit as this is high in sugar.

Some tips on how to avoid costly dental bills are:

* Maintaining a good oral health routine keeps your teeth healthy and often lowers the need for expensive treatments
* Attending regular dental appointments can actually save money in the long run, the dentist can spot any problems early - before they get worse
* Investing in an electric toothbrush - you can purchase these for about £30 but will keep your mouth healthier, hopefully limiting the amount of treatment that you will need.
