The “white T-shirt” rule 👕
Whitening opens tiny pores in enamel for a short time, so colours can cling more easily. For ~48 hours after each session, try these simple swaps:
Do (easy wins):
• Stick to pale foods
• Choose light drinks
• Use a straw for any non-water drink to keep liquids away from front teeth.
• Rinse with water straight after eating/drinking (especially if you forget and have something colourful).
• Keep teeth warm—not hot or icy if you’re sensitivity-prone.
Avoid (just for a bit):
• Dark drinks: coffee, etc•
Strong colours: tomato sauces etc
• Coloured mouthwashes (pick clear/white for now).
• Smoking or vaping—can stain and irritate gums.
Bonus care:
• Brush gently with a soft brush; use your desensitising toothpaste if advised.
• If you slip up (life happens!), rinse with water and get back to the plan—no stress.
