😊 one of my favourite cases completed a while ago now but has taken a while to post 😊Life is busier these days with being a parent but it’s a pleasure to take time to share this case with my patients. We were able to deliver some wonderful results for this patient who was really just wanting a healthy smile without the need for dentures. Towards the end of the treatment, we did decide to do a bit of whitening and neaten the edges of the teeth. This wasn’t a quick case, we needed to remove broken teeth and wait for the healing, after 10 weeks, we planned where to place the implants using a CBCT scan, and delivered the surgery using a guided system to make the treatment safer and more predictable. Nine Conelog dental implants were placed and restored with provisional bridges to check our end results and help shape the gums to improve the gum thickness - this in turn makes the implants better protected from complications such as gum problems. After six months, we delivered the final restorations and the results are great! ✨🦷 a little update of a composite bonding treatment completed recently 🦷✨
Composite is super versatile, especially for patients which have kept their teeth, but they are really worn down. Experience is important in understanding how to plan these cases, and know when to complete more or less teeth when providing the treatment. For this case, the teeth were severely worn, there was also decay below the gum line.., we knew the treatment was complex, and so we treated eight upper teeth, and made sure the material was really thick.
The patient was super happy with the results which is really nice for us, there was a little bit of refinement as the patient wanted the teeth a bit shorter than I initially made them, but that is a nice part of this material, since we can tailor it to suit fine adjustments for each patient.

🦷 ✨ 😀 Fully Guided Dental Implants 😀 ✨ 🦷

We achieved a really nice result for this lovely patient.
The patient’s upper left front bridge had unfortunately failed and our choices were limited to a denture or dental implants. We elected for two dental implants placed using fully guided surgery. We also changed the old crown to improve the appearance of the upper central incisor. I think the results achieved are a really natural and healthy smile.

Regarding placing our implants, then why wouldn’t we want to make life easier right?
Being able to plan our implant surgery and produce guides which facilitate that placement makes life much easier.
The planning does take a while, but when the implants are ready to be placed, the treatment is faster and more predictable.
That means less time for patients in the chair, and faster recovery.

For the dentists, the guide used here is a ‘SMOP’ guide, they are easy to check if they are well fitted, and their open design allows more cooling saline to reach the surgery site. I am starting to use fully guided surgery more often. It is especially useful for immediate implant placements.
