🦷 ✨ 😀 Fully Guided Dental Implants 😀 ✨ 🦷

We achieved a really nice result for this lovely patient.
The patient’s upper left front bridge had unfortunately failed and our choices were limited to a denture or dental implants. We elected for two dental implants placed using fully guided surgery. We also changed the old crown to improve the appearance of the upper central incisor. I think the results achieved are a really natural and healthy smile.

Regarding placing our implants, then why wouldn’t we want to make life easier right?
Being able to plan our implant surgery and produce guides which facilitate that placement makes life much easier.
The planning does take a while, but when the implants are ready to be placed, the treatment is faster and more predictable.
That means less time for patients in the chair, and faster recovery.

For the dentists, the guide used here is a ‘SMOP’ guide, they are easy to check if they are well fitted, and their open design allows more cooling saline to reach the surgery site. I am starting to use fully guided surgery more often. It is especially useful for immediate implant placements.

✨😀 A Missing Tooth Restored with a Dental Implant 😀✨
Knowing that my patients have confidence to smile is really important to me. There can be many reasons for missing teeth, and each time, there is no closer replacement for a tooth than a dental implant. Here I’ve shown a few pictures of the process of planning and completing the stages involved in replacing this tooth. ✨ returning a worn smile to a natural and healthy position ✨
Here our patient had become aware that their teeth were becoming heavily worn. We were concerned that the teeth could require more complex treatment if we didn’t do anything. Years ago, we may have considered restoring these teeth using techniques which further damage the teeth, such as crowns. With modern materials and techniques, we were able to restore these teeth in composite. The aim here, is to allow the composite to wear down as it is slightly less hard than the teeth. We didn’t do the treatment primarily to improve the appearance of the smile, but as a result, our patient was really heartened by the rejuvenation of this also. I hope it’s interesting for anyone considering similar treatment. As ever, feel free to get in touch via social media, or with one of the reception team.

✨🦷 dental implants 🦷✨
We provided this lovely patient with two implants to replace the failed upper front teeth. Sometimes we’re a bit limited when it comes to options to replace teeth. Here, realistically our choices were a denture, or implants.
Implants are the closest a dentist can get to providing patients with a solution which is as good as the original teeth.
There was a bit to this case, as the bone needed to be grafted before it was wide enough to have the implants placed. Also, the patient wanted the teeth to be a bit wider. We took time to plan carefully, and the patient was really pleased with the end results.

does attention to detail pay off?
Here we’ve managed to achieve a really natural and beautiful smile for this great patient.
Sometimes when my work will make a big difference to the patient’s appearance, we will look at previous photos of patients in their younger years, and listen to their aims.
I work with great technical staff which pay equal attention to understanding our aims,
The sum of the care and attention to detail give an end result which can hugely improve patient’s confidence in their smile.

✨life changing dentistry✨
Being able to provide patients with a smile they are confident with, and with being as close to natural teeth as possible, is very rewarding.
Missing teeth can sometimes be simply replaced by bridges. In some cases this is likely to cause more problems, and here we have placed two dental implants. Being able to avoid dentures is generally more comfortable for patients.
The first image shows the results we gained. The second image shows the key planning behind every case.
Building digital workflows is really key to giving consistent results which are predictable. I hope patients find it interesting!

🦷 ceramic onlays 🦷
✨ what are they?
✨ when do dentists recommend them?
‘This is a really nice case to explain the benefits of ceramic onlays.
Here we had a very large cavity, where if we placed a white filling, then it would be highly likely to fail because of breaking.
Patients normally then say, can we not just do a crown. With taking a picture of these teeth, I can show patients that if we reduce the tooth for a crown, there would be almost no tooth remaining.
This case is a nice one to then show my patients how by bonding ceramic to teeth such as this, can be a really smart way of preserving the remaining tooth with a predictable and strong option.

✨ dental implants in stages ✨
Here I take patients through a more staged approach to replacing failed teeth.
Convenience and simplicity for our patients is desirable, but on occasion, we need to plan in stages.
The range of techniques available to dentists now allow us to predictably regenerate bone in order to be able to place dental implants. This case did take more time to complete, but the results should work well for the patient in the longer term.
The second photo shows you more information on what was done for those who are more interested.
