The Channings Dental Surgery

It is our sad duty to inform you that a close family member of our principal dentist, Kenneth Chow, has been diagnosed with a terminal illness after a short but brave battle.
Over the coming weeks he will be taking compassionate leave in order to care for them.
We will try to keep disruption to patient care to an absolute minimum by offering alternative appointments. Sometimes this could be with a different clinician.
Mr. Chow will still be on site as much as he can, but as you can appreciate these are difficult times for him and his family. As with the nature of terminal illnesses there are no exact time frame so at this moment we do not know how much time, or for how long, that he will require to take off.
We thank you all for your compassion and understanding, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We will endeavour to keep you informed of upcoming progress.

Due to the Easter holidays, we are closed for the following days:

*Update*

We have successfully migrated to our new patient management system in preparation for the new NHS contract that is to be introduced by Welsh Government on 1st April 2026.
Please be aware that all of us are trying to navigate through the new system. We are prioritising emergency requests (such as making emergency dental appointments) and this might mean a delay in routine requests (such as referrals, making routine appointments, sending out recall reminders, etc.). It will also mean that staff might take longer to process your request, be it by telephone, e-mail, or in person, than perviously.
We thank you for your patience during this period.

During this time we are unable to take calls, make or change dental appointments, give advice, or see any patients.

Following the computer software migration, it will take our team longer than usual to respond to requests than usual as we navigate the new system. We thank you for your understanding during this transitional period.

*Update*
Our electricity supply has now been restored. We will be aiming to contact all patients affected by the power cut as soon as possible to rebook their appointments.

Due to a fault on the National Grid we are suffering from a power cut.
We are currently unable to see any patients or handle any calls at this time.
The circumstances are unfortunately completely out of our control and we have been reassured by the National Grid that their engineers are attempting to rectify the problem as quickly as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will endeavour to update everyone when we have more information.
