🦷🪥 SENSORY FRIENDLY TOOTHPASTE 🪥 🦷

We have toothpaste in stock which is foam free and flavour free, whilst still having Fluoride to protect your teeth.
This can really help if your child, or yourself have sensory issues and find the taste and foaming of regular toothpaste difficult

Cost is £3 per tube and available at reception.

⭐️ EVERYONE MEET ALEKS ⭐️

⭐️ Belhaven is very privileged to be selected to be involved in mentoring new dental graduates, After a fantastic year with Shauna (who has stayed on with us to cover Patsy’s maternity leave- we are delighted with this ) we’ve found another star 😊

⭐️ We were very lucky to be inundated with applicants for the post and after meeting and interviewing many fantastic candidates, we knew we had found the perfect fit for our established team at Belhaven when Aleks arrived

⭐️ It is a great asset to the practice to have a recently qualified dentist in the team as they bring with them the most up to date knowledge of techniques, and in return we share with them our experience.

⭐️ Aleks studied her first degree in Aberdeen, then came to Glasgow University to study dentistry. Aleks is very sociable and chatty (we seem to attract chatty at Belhaven!) and already feels like she has been part of the team for ages!

⭐️ All of the patients who have seen Aleks so far have been really impressed and she is great at putting nervous patients at ease

⭐️ Catherine is responsible for mentoring Aleks, but Aleks also has the privilege of learning from Ryan, Correen and Shauna who all love to help out when a second opinion is needed.
As well as this the therapists and nurses also have so much knowledge to share -- it’s very much a full team training at Belhaven 🥰🥰

It’s going to be a fun and very fulfilling year ahead for us all

This week marks 20 years since we opened the doors of Belhaven 🦷

Belhaven was started by Catherine, and the first employees were Ann (reception) and Allison (dental nurse) - and all 3 are still at Belhaven today 😊

A lot has happened in 20 years, with huge changes in practice size (zero patients to over 10,000!), a relocation 10 years ago, and a change of ownership - with Scottish Dental Care taking over the reigns of Belhaven in 2023

Over all the years our fabulous staff have been amazing - many of the staff have been here for a very long time - and what a privilege to still have the 3 original team members still being here!

A very special Thankyou to all our patients for your loyalty and for becoming friends over the years - it’s been a pleasure to help you all 🥰🥰🥰

The most perfect very special patient today- baby Charlie ♥️♥️

Everyone was delighted to meet him, particularly as his mum was a fabulous dental nurse at Belhaven for over 10 years and is missed by us all.
Congratulations to mum and dad , he is a wonderful wee baby ♥️♥️

We will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday to give our staff a well earned break, and time to spend with their families and friends as it’s been a very busy first few months of the year.

If you have a severe dental emergency over the bank holiday weekend (uncontrollable pin, bleeding or swelling that is increasing) then NHS24 provide emergency cover for us so call 111 for advice.

⭐️ Congratulations to Natalie who has worked at Belhaven for 10 years today ⭐️
Natalie started with us as a dental nurse, then went to college to get further qualifications to get a place to study Dental Therapy at University 👩‍🎓

During this time of studying she continued to work some shifts at Belhaven as a dental nurse.

We were delighted when last year Natalie officially (re)joined the team this time as a dental therapist.
She has proven herself to be a great therapist and patients have been delighted with her kind and caring manner and skills. Our staff also love working alongside her and she is a real asset to the team.

Dental therapists can provide a wide range of treatments, including hygiene services, gum disease treatment, fillings,metal caps on baby teeth and extractions of baby teeth.
