Maintaining a healthy smile sounds simple but for so many this can be very difficult.

Despite the many improvements in oral health over the last 40 years, inequalities continue to be a burden for countless individuals.

By supporting National Smile Month, you will be able to help reach groups where oral disease is far too common. It’s your chance to reach people in the heart of your community. Help others achieve better oral health by sharing the importance of good dental care.

1. Brush your teeth last thing at night and at least one other time during the day with a fluoride toothpaste.
2. Clean in between your teeth at least once a day using interdental brushes or floss.
3. Make sure your toothpaste contains fluoride; it helps strengthen tooth enamel making it more resistant to decay.
4. Change your toothbrush every two to three months, or sooner if it becomes worn.
5. If you use mouthwash don’t use it directly after brushing as you rinse away the fluoride from your toothpaste.

Everyone deserves a healthy smile!

We’re sharing our top tips on keeping your teeth and gums healthy.

– Electric toothbrushes are proven to provide a deeper clean than a manual brush and can remove up to 4x more plaque.

– Spit out after brushing and don’t rinse your mouth with water. This helps the fluoride stay on your teeth longer.

– Brush twice daily with fluoridated toothpaste and reduce the amount of sugar in your diet.
