🧠🦷 Did you know your teeth are connected to your brain?
The nerves that carry sensation from your teeth to your brain are mainly part of the trigeminal nerve (cranial nerve V)β€” the largest cranial nerve in your head.
When you feel toothache, sensitivity, pressure or pain, nerve endings inside and around the tooth send signals through branches of the trigeminal nerve β†’ into the brainstem β†’ and ultimately to the brain, where those signals are interpreted as sensation or pain.

That’s why dental pain can sometimes feel like it’s coming from somewhere else β€” such as your jaw, ear, cheek or even other teeth. 🧠⚑🦷

✨ Fun fact: The tooth’s pulp contains nerves and blood vessels, but the enamel itself has no nerves, which is why damage limited to enamel doesn’t directly cause pain.
