At Penicuik Dental Practice, our aim is to provide patients with high quality dental treatment and care. We are pleased to offer NHS and private dental care to all patients, delivered by a team of five dentists and one hygienist. Our principal dentist is Dr Des O'Hanlon, who has been delivering dentistry in Penicuik since May 2000. Our state-of-the-art dental practice was built in 2010 and occupie

s a purpose-built building the centre of Penicuik, on the High Street. Our premises benefits from a large public car park with dedicated disabled parking space outside the front entrance. 🦷Originally from Hong Kong, I moved to Scotland to study dentistry and have loved calling it home ever since.
🦷After graduating from the University of Glasgow, I developed a passion for all aspects of dentistry, with a particular focus on delivering high-quality care in a friendly and relaxed environment. I enjoy building lasting relationships with my patients and helping them achieve healthy, confident smiles.

🦷In my free time, I enjoy pet-sitting and playing tennis.

🦷Meet the team! 🦷 Meet our lovely Dental Therapist Yvonne 🦷

🦷Yvonne has been working in dentistry since the age of 19, beginning her career as a Dental Nurse on her home island, the Isle of Lewis. She later went on to complete her degree in Oral Health Science at the University of the Highlands and Islands, qualifying as a Dental Therapist.

🦷Yvonne enjoys all aspects of dental therapy, with a particular passion for periodontal and preventive care, as well as restorative dentistry. She loves helping patients improve both the health and confidence of their smiles and particularly enjoys seeing the progress patients can make over time.

🦷Building strong, trusting relationships with her patients is a big part of Yvonne’s approach to care. She understands that visiting the dentist can feel daunting for some patients and aims to create a relaxed, friendly environment where patients feel comfortable.

🦷Yvonne is passionate about continuing to develop her clinical skills and keeping up to date with modern techniques in dentistry, particularly within periodontal care and restorative treatment.

🦷Outside of the clinic, Yvonne enjoys exploring new coffee and brunch spots, trying new restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and getting outdoors for beach walks.

🦷Meet our Dentist Team🦷 Kevin graduated from the University of Dundee in 2008. He has worked in general practice in Aberdeen, Australia and Edinburgh, and joined the Penicuik team in 2019.

Kevin is a highly experienced dentist whose meticulous approach allows him to provide the best care to his patients. He has a passion for the use of digital dentistry and modern techniques to deliver high quality treatment. Over the years, he has attended various professional development courses to enhance his knowledge and clinical skills.

His relaxed and caring nature creates a calm environment for his patients to undertake their dentistry.

Away from dentistry, Kevin is a keen traveller and scuba diver. In his spare time, he enjoys running and exploring the countryside with his wife and Goldendoodle dog.
