Just a reminder that Priory House Dental Centre will be closed on
Good Friday (3rd April) and Easter Monday (6th April).

We reopen with normal hours on Tuesday 7th April.

Easter is a time to enjoy chocolate, and you don’t have to avoid it completely to protect your smile.

Here are some simple tips to keep your teeth healthy while still enjoying your treats:

• Enjoy in moderation – it is not just how much sugar you have, but how often.

• Stick to mealtimes – eating chocolate after meals reduces the risk of decay.

• Avoid frequent snacking – grazing throughout the day increases acid attacks on your teeth.

• Choose wisely – plain chocolate is generally better than sticky or caramel-filled sweets.

• Drink water after – helps wash away sugars and acids.

• Maintain your routine – brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and don’t forget to floss.

Top tip: Wait at least 30 minutes after eating before brushing to protect your enamel.

Patched up and smiling again just in time for Mother’s Day 💐

A young patient came in for emergency appointment after a fall from his scooter that resulted in a chipped tooth. Thankfully, his parents acted quickly, they found the broken fragment and stored it in milk to prevent it from dehydrating (saliva can also work in situations like this).

Because the fragment was preserved properly, Dr Gethin Howell was able to successfully bond it back onto the tooth.

A fantastic result for this young boy and great work by Dr Howell.
