The practice will be closed this afternoon for our annual CPR training. We will reopen at 9am tomorrow.

BSPD has developed a leaflet providing oral health advice for parents and carers of autistic children and young people in consultation with experts and parents. This leaflet provides up to date support for those caring for neurodivergent children or those with additional sensory needs.

The Society hopes that this advice will help support families with an autistic child to enable them to achieve healthy teeth and gums for life, ultimately giving them the smile they deserve. We know that for a parent or carer of an autistic child or young person, it may feel daunting to take them to the dentist for the first time. This is totally understandable. Fear of the new and unknown can be quite overwhelming for an autistic child, but with planning and reasonable adjustments, it is possible to make this experience a positive one.

Dr Shannu Bhatia, BSPD President, said: “BSPD hopes that this new advice leaflet will provide both confidence and valuable support to those caring for an autistic child, since we all want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to have a healthy smile for life.”

Due to late cancellations we have a number of private hygiene appointments available today between 10:30-12:30, and 15:00-16:00. £55 for a hygiene assessment, oral hygiene advice, scaling and polishing. If you would like to book an appointment please email us on [email protected] with your name, DOB and a contact number or call us on 01691 658114. This is available for new or existing patients. If you already have a hygienist appointment booked, but would like to bring it forward to today, please get in contact.
