🌟 A Fantastic Day of Learning at the Brain Injury Group Conference
What an inspiring day we had at the Brain Injury Group Conference last Thursday, a full programme of learning, innovation and powerful lived experience that truly reinforces why this work matters.
We heard from Ruth Purdie, who shared the impact of the road safety scheme designed to reduce road accidents and prevent life‑changing brain injuries.
Nicholas Cass spoke movingly about his journey as a brain injury survivor, joined by Ryan Price from Heads Up Therapies, highlighting how sport became a key part of his rehabilitation.
We also explored the future of healthcare with Geoffrey Simpson Scott and who discussed the growing role of AI.
The day was packed with sessions on genetics, brain tumours, charity support and so much more, each one adding depth to our understanding of how multidisciplinary teams can improve outcomes for people living with brain injuries.
A personal highlight was unexpectedly bumping into Bhaskar Basu an old friend and colleague from my Withington Hospital days. Such a lovely surprise and a reminder of how small and supportive this community truly is.
To finish the day on a high, the soirée with DJ Alex Sweeney had everyone up dancing, the perfect end to a brilliant event.
Feeling energised, grateful and proud to keep learning so we can continue supporting our patients with the very best care.
