World Mental Health Day 10th October

What if we stopped asking, “Are you okay?” and started asking: “What do you need?”

Because sometimes the answer is a coffee and five quiet minutes.

Sometimes it’s a walk.

Sometimes it’s a proper conversation.

Sometimes it’s asking someone to take something off your plate.

And sometimes, it’s professional support.

Katy's journey into dentistry began at just 16 years old. She later joined the Royal Navy, where she completed her hygienist training, and has spent her career helping patients build healthier smiles through education, prevention and personalised care.

National Su***de Prevention Month

September is National Su***de Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness, encourage open conversations and remind people that support is available.

Su***de can affect anyone, and sometimes the people who are struggling may not show any obvious signs. A simple “How are you really doing?” could be the start of an important conversation.

You don't need to have all the answers. Listening without judgement, showing compassion and helping someone find support can make a real difference.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there is help available:

Samaritans – call 116 123, free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Shout – text SHOUT to 85258 for free, confidential support by text, 24/7.
NHS 111 – call 111 and select the mental health option for urgent mental health support.

If someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical attention, call 999 or go to A&E.

At Rodericks Dental Partners, we believe looking after people means creating a culture where talking about mental health is normal, asking for help is encouraged and people feel supported.
