During Oral Health Foundation Smile Month, we are reminding all our patients of the importance of cleaning between their teeth every day using interdental brushes. These tiny brushes help remove plaque and food debris from areas your toothbrush can’t reach. Helping to keep your gums healthy and your smile bright throughout orthodontic treatment 🦷

If you’re wearing braces or aligners, keeping your teeth and gums clean is even more important to prevent inflammation, decay, and staining.

As proud supporters of the Oral Health Foundation’s National Smile Month, we are encouraging everyone to think about the amount of sugar in their diet and the impact it can have on their oral health.

Too much sugar can increase the risk of tooth decay, enamel wear and gum problems, especially when sugary snacks and drinks are consumed frequently throughout the day.

A few simple swaps can make a big difference:
🦷 Choose water or milk instead of fizzy drinks
🦷 Keep sugary treats to mealtimes where possible
🦷 Check food labels for hidden sugars
🦷 Brush twice daily with a fluoride toothpaste

A little reminder for all of our orthodontic patients 😊

Please only use orthodontic elastics that have been prescribed and provided by our team.

We understand it may seem easier to purchase elastics online, however different elastics come in different strengths and sizes, and using the wrong type can affect your treatment progress and tooth movement.

If you are running low on elastics, there’s no need to order them online. We are always happy to help!

✔️ Elastics can be collected FREE from our practice
✔️ We can also post them out to you for a small fee

If you need more elastics or are unsure which ones you should be wearing, please contact our team before using alternatives purchased elsewhere.

We understand that dental appointments can feel challenging for some patients, which is why we now have sensory fidgets available to purchase at reception for anyone who may find them helpful during their visit. 😊

We are suggesting a small donation of £1 per fidget, with all proceeds going to our charity of the year, PANS PANDAS UK.

Our aim is to help make dental visits a little more comfortable and supportive for everyone. Please feel free to ask a member of our team at reception for more information. 🦷✨

We are proud to share that our Charity of the Year for 2026 is PANS PANDAS UK 🥰

PANS (Paediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS (Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections) are conditions that can cause a sudden onset of symptoms such as anxiety, OCD, tics, and changes in behaviour in children following infection.

PANS PANDAS UK is a wonderful charity that supports affected families, raises awareness, and advocates for better understanding and care for children living with these conditions.

Throughout the year, we will be working to raise both funds and awareness to support their incredible work.

If you would like to learn more, get involved, or support our fundraising efforts, keep an eye on our page. We will be sharing updates along the way!
