Edwards Dental Health Centre We are a well established family practice and proud of the service that we offer our patients. Patient confidentiality is very important to us.

We have a strong commitment to the N.H.S with over 3,500 patients registered and treated every year. We are, however, at full capacity with our N.H.S lists so new patients are treated on an independent basis only. We also run a Dental plan through Denplan for those patients who wish to spread the cost of their Dental Care. Our Team
Emma and David Edwards are our Dental Surgeons and they qualifie

d in 1991 from the University of Wales in Cardiff. Sharon Jones is our receptionist and has been with the practice since 1999. Our Nurses are Jayne, Rebekah, Gill, Allison, Kelly and Lindsey who are all qualified and registered Dental Surgery Assistants. Where to find us
The practice is located in Pontnewydd Village close to the village car park and Bus Stop. Opening Hours
The practice is open during the following hours -
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9a.m-1 2-5p.m
Wednesday 9a.m - 2.30 p.m

Facilities
We have a spacious, modern waiting room which is accessible to wheelchair patients with the use of a ramp. Our staff are friendly and welcoming and always prepared to chat over any queries you may have over your visit. Should you wish to talk in private we will make time and find somewhere suitable for this. We have a practice policy in place and are registered with the Data Protection Commision. Dental Care and Treatment at the practice
We do our best to ensure your dental care meets your individual needs and will discuss the proposed treatment and options with you, giving you time to ask questions and consider the alternatives. Emma has trained in Homeopathic remedies in Dental care and David has done extensive work in the treatment of Bite disorders which can lead to jaw joint pain and headaches. We have a strong leaning towards the prevention of Dental disease and we want you to be able to care and look after your teeth and gums to achieve and maintain good dental health for you and your family. We offer a full range of treatments to improve the look of your smile. Don’t be afraid to ask about what could be done to give you the smile you have always wanted. Routine payments can be made with cash, cheque or card. Controlling Your own Dental Health
On your first visit we will invite you to work with us so that together we can carry out a Dental Health Assessment. This will include a full review of your -

Medical History - Please notify us of any medical condition you have or any changes in condition since your last visit. Dental History - Let us know of any previous experiences you may have had at the dentist. Clinical Examination - A thorough look at your jaws, teeth, gums and mouth to assess what level of health or disease is present and finally,
Patient participation - We will show you where your mouth is healthy and where you have active disease. Our trained Dental nurses will then actively work with you to enable you to get rid of these unwanted, unnecessary and preventable diseases. You can and should keep your own natural teeth for the whole of your life. If you choose to work with us, this is the single most important thing we can do for you. The choice is yours ! Your Safety
We take every precaution to safeguard you and our staff. We follow recommended guidelines for the sterilisation of instruments and the use of disposable equipment wherever possible. We are happy to answer any questions you may have on cross infection control or Health and Safety issues. Emergency Care
Please contact us early in the day so that we can offer you one of our special appointments which have been set aside for this purpose. Should you have a Dental emergency outside the normal practice hours, details on how to access emergency care for both N.H.S and Private patients may be obtained by telephoning the practice and listening to the instructions on the answer phone message. Missed / Cancelled Appointments
If you are unable to keep your appointment we would be very grateful if you could give at least 24 hours notice. Repeat failure to do so may result in us being unable to continue to offer appointments. Complaints Procedure
We hope that you are entirely satisfied with your dental care and treatment and would be happy to recommend us to your family and friends. If not, please let us know so we can improve our services.
