It’s now nearly 5 and a half weeks since I retired from the NHS after nearly 37 and a half years

With so many patients under active treatment and a long treatment waiting list the transition was never going to be easy

My treatment waiting list is approx 2.5-3 years from the time I assessed a patient
IF I ASSESSED YOUR CHILD EITHER AT MY PRACTICE OR BY WHATS APP WE DISCUSSED TREATMENT AND I SAID I WOULD PUT THEM ON THE WAITING LIST then this will have not changed

The waiting list has been passed to Newport Orthodontic Centre but your child’s details will not be on their management system yet so it’s difficult for them to answer queries when you ring them

IF YOUR CHILD WAS ASSESSED BY ME WE DISCUSSED TRESTMRNT VIA WHATS APP AND I SAID THEY WOULD BE GOING ON THE TREATMENT WAITING LIST then they will be on it but it is approx 2.5 -3 years wait from time of assessment

The waiting list has been transferred to Newport Orthodontic Centre but your child’s details won’t be on their management system This makes it difficult for them to answer your questions if you ring them

It’s now 7 weeks until I retire from NHS after nearly 38 years

Arrangements are underway for transfer of my patients to another practice but patience is needed .
I will continue to treat my private patients.

Private treatment s that I am already committed to and made appointments for are guaranteed my care until their treatment is finished
However I will be stopping taking on any new private patients this summer

Thank you all for your many kind words on my retirement and being part of a very fulfilling job ###

So the first full week of January 2025 is over and roll on the spring 🌼
Its now 10 weeks until I retire from the NHS and now at last the LHB have confirmed where all my NHS patients and waiting list will be transferred to

NEWPORT ORTHODONTIC CENTRE 😁👏👏👏

This is great news its a lovely practice with great staff.

It will take time for patients to be transferred and they don’t take over until 01/04/25. So please DO NOT bombard them with phone calls to see when you child will be seen as this will not help the process of transfer and they wont be able to help with any information at this point.

If your child is already under treatment I will have explained the process (or will do at their final appointment with me)

If your child is on the NHS treatment waiting list, the wait will not change and its approx 2.5-3 years from the time I assessed them and put them on list.

I hope you ve all stayed safe in the terrible weather that storm Darragh has brought.
It’s now 15/16 weeks until I retire from NHS orthodontics and I m sorry that I can t give any positive information regarding who will be taking over my patients. As soon as I have any information I will post it here.

Our dental nurses are highly trained dental care professionals dedicated to supporting patients and the dentists they assist in providing excellent dental care.

They are compassionate, enthusiastic dedicated and above all patient dealing with so much on a daily basis with a smile and a sense of humour😁

It’s now only 20 weeks until i retire from NHS. Unfortunately I can t give an update as yet about which orthodontic practice will be taking over my patients and waiting list.

As soon as I know any details I will post it on here xx
