Stoptober starts today!
Evidence shows that if a smoker can go 28 days smoke-free, they are five times more likely to quit for good. Stoptober provides the structure, motivation, and support to help people achieve that milestone.

🦷 Healthy gums. Healthy you. 💚

Did you know that having diabetes can increase your risk of gum disease?

Gum disease can sometimes develop without pain, so regular dental checks and good daily oral care are important.

Here are 3 simple steps:
🦷Tell your dentist that you have diabetes
🦷 Ask your dentist or hygienist to check your gums and show you how to brush and clean between your teeth
📅 Keep up with your regular dental appointments

🦷 Not every toothache needs antibiotics.

The best treatment is often fixing the cause—not prescribing antibiotics.
Using antibiotics when they're not needed contributes to antibiotic resistance, making future infections harder to treat.

💙 Help protect these life-saving medicines:
✔️ Only take antibiotics when prescribed.
✔️ Finish the full course.
✔️ Never share or save leftovers.
✔️ Keep up with regular dental check-ups to prevent problems before they start.

Healthy smiles. Smarter antibiotic use. Better health for everyone.

🦷 Toothache? Antibiotics usually aren’t the answer.

Most toothaches are caused by tooth decay or other dental problems that need treatment from a dental professional. While antibiotics may be needed in some cases of spreading infection, they do not cure the cause of a toothache.

✅ The best treatment is to identify and remove the source of the problem.
✅ Contact your dentist for advice and treatment.
✅ If you need urgent dental help and don’t have a dentist, call NHS 111.

Help protect antibiotics so they remain effective when they’re truly needed.
