✨ Brown marks to a big smile ✨ 😁🦷

This lovely young patient came to see us feeling self-conscious about the brown opacities on her front teeth caused by amelogenesis imperfecta 💔 and was reluctant to smile.

Using minimally invasive microabrasion treatment ✨ we were able to camouflage the brown marks and help transform not just her teeth — but her confidence too 💫

Now… she can’t stop smiling 😄❤️

One of the best parts of treating children is seeing that confidence return 🌟

Always inspiring to see the knowledge, preparation and passion from candidates taking the next step in their careers 👏✨

Now back home, making the most of a day off ☀️🌊 Blue skies, sea air and enjoying beach life in the Toon 🏖️😎 Nothing quite like returning to Newcastle when the weather delivers 🌅💙

🌟 “Braver Than Most Grown Ups” 🌟🦷

A 5-year-old superstar came to see me after developing a large facial swelling 😔

Initially diagnosed elsewhere as mumps after struggling to access a dentist 🏥➡️🦷
But when the swelling returned weeks later, the real culprit appeared… 👀
A grossly carious lower right E tooth causing recurrent infection ⚠️

With a little help from inhalation sedation 💨 and her favourite video glasses 🎬🕶️, we safely removed the tooth and turned a scary experience into a positive one 🌈✨

Fast forward a few weeks… swelling gone, healing perfect, and one very happy smile back where it belongs 😄💖

She was an absolute superstar from start to finish ⭐️
A reminder that dental infections in children can sometimes mimic medical conditions — and early dental assessment matters 🙌🦷

🕹️ Level Complete: Boss Tooth Defeated

This 5-year-old superhero came in with a seriously infected molar and a whole lot of courage 💥

Dressed head-to-toe as Mario, ready to take on his next challenge… dentistry!

With a little help from inhalation sedation and video glasses 🎥✨, we powered through a tricky extraction like pros. No tears, just teamwork — and one very brave Super Mario ⭐️

Best part? He left smiling, still believing the dentist isn’t such a scary place after all ❤️

Sedation success → smiles all round 😊

A very nervous 5 year old boy came in to needing treatment, and with a little help from inhalation sedation and video glasses, he absolutely smashed it 💪

From feeling anxious at the start to not being able to stop smiling by the end — this is why we do what we do 🙌

Proud mum, a very happy nurse .canning, and one brave little patient… couldn’t ask for more 💛

🤔 A curious case of hypomineralised 7's 🤔

This nervous boy was initially seen in 2021 with poor prognosis upper first permanent molars in which it was decided that they should be extracted 🛠

Treatment was completed with inhalation sedation and videoglasses and discharged back to his local dentist 😎

A few years later, he came to see us again as he had sensitivity. His upper second permanent molars had achieved space closure but surprisingly were hypomineralised 😲

These have now been stabilised with tooth mousse, SDF and fuji triage sealants and will need long term treatment planning 💭

Not a very common clinical presentation! Have you ever seen such cases? Please let me know! 📩

🌟 From Tiny Teeth to Total Pro! 🦷✨

This little legend has been coming to see us since he was really small — all about acclimatisation, prevention, and building confidence from day one 💪
Fast forward to now… 4 years old and absolutely smashing it! 🚀

So relaxed, so co-operative, and even excited to come in and see us (yes, really 😄👏)
This is exactly why early visits matter — creating positive experiences that last a lifetime ❤️

📸 Word of warning to all parents…
Do NOT leave your camera lying around… it may get “borrowed” by the nurse for a cheeky selfie with the proud parents 🤳😂

🧩 Putting teeth back together 🧩

An 11 year old girl presented with horizontal root fractured teeth and the family were worried that they would need to be extracted ☹️

We were able to carefully reposition the teeth and splint to facilitate healing. Root fractures can look dramatic on radiographs but with the right material selection and prompt management, these injuries can heal successfully 🙂

Now we wait to let nature take its course 🙏

🦷 Careers day 🦷

A big thank you to for inviting me to talk to 50 driven GCSE and A-Level students looking to get into dentistry 😷

I had the chance to talk about my journey and the decisions I made to eventually end up in Paediatric Dentistry 👶

Hopefully I provided the future generation with insight into the trials and tribulations of such a career but also how extremely rewarding it is 😊

It was a great chance also to reminisce about life and the old Birmingham Dental Hospital ❤️
