Meet Emma 👋🦷

We’re delighted to welcome Emma, our new dental hygienist, to the Brunswick Dental team! 🤍

Emma graduated from Newcastle in 2002 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and brings over 20 years of experience to the practice.

She’s passionate about helping patients look after their oral health and providing friendly, supportive care to help everyone feel comfortable during their visits.

Outside of dentistry, Emma is a huge animal lover 🐱 She volunteers at a cat rescue, is qualified to microchip animals and has three cats of her own! When she’s not surrounded by cats, she also loves crafts and music. 🎶

We’re so pleased to have Emma as part of the Brunswick Dental team and can’t wait for you all to get to know her! 🤍

One missing tooth. Three possible routes. Very different long-term outcomes.

Dentures, bridges and implants can all replace a tooth, but each comes with its own practical and biological considerations.

A denture is removable. A bridge is fixed but depends on the teeth beside the gap. An implant is supported independently and does not require those adjacent teeth to be filed down.

We’re delighted to welcome Charlotte, our new Dental Therapist, to the Brunswick Dental team! 🤍

Charlotte began her dental career by completing her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing with City & Guilds in 2022. She then continued her studies at Newcastle University, qualifying in Dental Therapy in 2026. 🎓🦷

Charlotte is passionate about providing friendly, supportive care and helping patients feel comfortable and confident when visiting the dentist.

Outside of dentistry, Charlotte is a big fitness fan and does CrossFit every day! 🏋️‍♀️ When she’s not training, she loves spending her weekends out and about with friends and family. 🤍

World Mental Health Day 🤍

Today is a reminder that looking after our health means looking after all of us - including our mental wellbeing.

We know that visiting the dentist can sometimes feel daunting, especially if you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed. That’s why we’re here to listen, take things at your pace and make your visit as comfortable as possible.

A little kindness, a friendly face and simply asking “How are you?” can make a bigger difference than we realise.

So today, check in with yourself, check in with someone you care about, and remember that it’s okay not to be okay. 💚

Bone loss does not automatically rule out dental implants.

Dr Nigel Suggett explains that most patients who lack sufficient jawbone can still be considered for treatment through guided bone regeneration. This process encourages bone to grow where additional support is needed, helping prepare the area for implant placement.

Every case is different, so careful planning and detailed imaging are essential before recommending the next step.
