If I had £1 for every patient who’s said…

“I didn’t think that was important…”

…I’d probably be writing this from a beach somewhere! 🌴😂

The truth is, what doesn’t seem important to you can be incredibly important to us.

Blood thinners.
Osteoporosis medication.
Hospital treatment.
New diagnoses.
Even that tablet you’ve been taking for six months that you’ve “forgotten” to mention because “it’s only a little one!”

We promise we’re not asking because we’re nosey

We’re asking because your medical history helps us keep you safe.

Sometimes the information you give us completely changes how we plan treatment. It might mean delaying an extraction, changing medication, or taking extra precautions to reduce the risk of complications. Particularly for blood thinners (apixaban, warfarin) and bisphosphonates (fosamax)etc

So next time you’re asked to update your medical history, please don’t roll your eyes… We’re not trying to catch you out—we’re trying to look after you.

And one last thing…

If you’ve suddenly become allergic to penicillin, started blood thinners, had treatment at hospital, or your GP has prescribed something new… please don’t keep it as a surprise until you’re already sitting in the dental chair! 😂

Thank you for helping us keep you safe.

If you have a travel concern to attend your appointment today, and would rather reschedule your appointment please do let us know by calling on 01782 713007.

Good morning all,
The a500 is reportedly closed both ways, and alternate routes are moving slowly with the peak of traffic.

Many of our clinicians and nursing team use these routes to get to the practice, and so will many of our patients with appointments today.

Please allow extra time when leaving for your dental appointments, and allow for delays this morning whilst my team navigate there way safely to the practices. We do appreciate your kindness and understanding.

Dear Patients,
Since August, the reception team have been recalling patients due for examinations that do not currently have appointments booked in.
With a number of patients advising they aren’t available, or will call us back.

We encourage all patients to attend their appointments in-line with the dentist recommendation, this is to ensure we are seeing you routinely and within a specific frequency to improve, maintain, or stabilse your oral health. If you are not attending as recommended, or within a two year period, we will not be able to provide you with routine dental appointments.

If it has been 2 years or longer since your last appointment, please do get in touch with us, before you receive a discharge letter. If you are unable to commit to routine dental care on the NHS we will offer your place to someone else in need. This is to ensure that we utilise our funding responsibly and effectively, and maintain NHS dental services locally.

If you’re unsure how long it’s been since your last appointment, please get in touch

Did you know your child’s first dental exam is due from their first birthday. Much of what we do is build confidence and reduce fears.

What happens at a 12-month visit?

It’s gentle and quick:
• A look at the teeth, gums, and tongue
• Counting teeth and checking how they’re coming through
• Advice for parents
• No drills, no pressure—just getting to know your child

Attendance intervals can depend on a child’s risk of tooth decay, and tooth decay can begin from when the first tooth appears. As parents, you will receive expert tailored advice for your child, and in the NHS Dental Care is free for under 18’s
