🔹 Composite vs. Amalgam
• Composite restorations blend seamlessly with natural teeth, preserve more tooth structure, and provide strong adhesive bonding. Less tooth structure is cut or removed to place these restorations, which is a big advantage because the lesser you cut the better the long term health of the tooth.
• Amalgam restorations or Silver fillings are durable but often require more extensive tooth cutting or removal and do not match the natural tooth color, over time these heavily prepared teeth to fit the restorations in will lead to cracks and ultimately fracture of the entire tooth if they are heavily filled.

A well-placed restoration not only restores function but also maintains the integrity of the tooth structure for long-term oral health.
