“All-on-4” is the name often used for a full arch of teeth supported by four dental implants, although in some cases five or six implants may be recommended depending on the individual patient 🦷

Treatment planning is based around the amount and position of available bone. After teeth have been missing for a long time, it’s common for bone levels towards the back of the mouth to reduce naturally over time.

The front part of the jaw often provides the strongest and most reliable support for implants, which is why strategically placed implants in this area can work so well to support a secure full bridge.

Every smile is different, which is why careful planning and detailed assessment are such an important part of treatment. We take time to explain your options clearly, helping you feel informed and confident throughout the process 💙

Gum disease is often much quieter than people expect. Often there can be very few symptoms in the early stages, which is why regular dental and hygiene visits are so important 🦷

You may notice gums looking a little red, inflamed, puffy, or bleeding slightly when brushing. This is usually caused by bacteria building up around the gums over time.

With the right care gum disease can often be stabilised successfully. Good brushing and cleaning between the teeth at home plays a very important role, alongside professional care from our team.

Our specialist periodontist, Shamila, can provide gentle professional cleaning beneath the gum line to help remove bacteria and support the gums in becoming healthier, firmer, and more comfortable again 💙

Each tooth contains its own nerve and blood supply. Sometimes, if the nerve becomes unhealthy or bacteria enters the centre of the tooth, it can lead to discomfort, sensitivity, or an infection around the root of the tooth.

Root canal treatment carefully cleans and disinfects the small internal spaces inside the tooth and roots. Once these areas are thoroughly cleaned, they are sealed to help prevent bacteria from returning and to support the long-term health of the tooth.

After treatment, the tooth is restored with a strong bonded filling and, in some cases, protected further with a crown. This helps restore both strength and function whilst allowing you to keep your natural tooth for as long as possible.

Patients are reassured to learn that modern root canal treatment is a gentle and predictable procedure when carried out carefully and with the right support 💙

Teeth whitening should feel safe, comfortable, and tailored to you 🦷✨

At The Briars Dental Centre, we offer professional home whitening systems rather than in-chair whitening. Patients find this a more gentle and flexible way to brighten their smile whilst still achieving beautiful results.

We create custom-made whitening trays for both the upper and lower teeth, along with a whitening system chosen around your preferences and needs. Some patients prefer shorter daytime whitening sessions, whilst others find overnight whitening more convenient.

We currently offer both Boutique and Enlighten whitening systems, and we take time to explain every step so you feel confident and supported throughout the process 💙

Root canal treatment is a procedure used to remove an inflamed or infected nerve from inside a tooth, helping to relieve discomfort and support healing 🦷

It also helps clear infection from around the tooth, allowing the surrounding area to settle and recover. With the right care, this treatment can help preserve your natural tooth and avoid the need for removal.

The process is carefully carried out to keep you comfortable throughout, with a focus on restoring both function and long-term oral health 💙

Kind words like this mean so much to our team 💙✨

This patient shared how supported they feel with both Dr. Afif Hanif and hygienist Meryl Colley. Highlighting their gentle, reassuring approach and the clear communication that helps make every appointment feel calm and comfortable.

For patients who feel nervous about visiting the dentist, feeling informed and at ease can make all the difference 😊

Thank you for your lovely feedback.

A tooth may need root canal treatment when the nerve inside becomes damaged beyond repair. This is often when pain is persistent and cannot be resolved in a reversible way 🦷

Another common situation is when the nerve has already died and an infection develops around the root tip.

Root canal treatment helps to remove the source of infection, allowing the area to heal and the tooth to be preserved.

With the right care, this can relieve discomfort and support the long-term health of the tooth 💙

A question we’re often asked is how it’s possible to have teeth placed on implants on the same day. The key to this is careful planning.

Before any treatment begins, we carry out detailed data collection to understand your teeth, your bite, and where your new smile needs to be.

This planning stage allows everything to be mapped out in advance, so the procedure itself can be carried out in a smooth and efficient way.

In many cases, this means implants can be placed and a temporary restoration fitted on the same day, helping you leave with a confident, functional smile 🦷

Can you spot which tooth has been replaced with a dental implant? 🦷✨

One of our favourite things to hear is “Which tooth did you work on?” because it means the restoration looks as natural and seamless as possible.

In this smile, the tooth in the top centre is actually a dental implant placed by Dr. Victoria Holden over 10 years ago 💙

A wonderful example of how natural and long-lasting implant treatment can be with careful planning and ongoing care.

The journey for all-on-four treatment begins with an initial consultation, where we take detailed scans to assess the bone and plan your treatment carefully.

This planning stage allows us to understand exactly what’s needed and ensure everything is mapped out in advance 💙

The treatment itself can then be surprisingly efficient. In many cases, implant placement and a temporary bridge can be completed within a couple of hours.

This means you can leave with a secure, functional set of teeth on the same day, following a well-planned and predictable process ✨
