🌱 A 36-year-old man had a guava sprout growing out of his wisdom tooth.
As unbelievable as it sounds, dentists in Taiwan reported a rare case in which a small guava seed became trapped inside a severely decayed wisdom tooth and eventually germinated.
The patient had been experiencing pain in the area for several days before seeking treatment. During examination, clinicians discovered a tiny green sprout emerging from the cavity of the partially erupted tooth.
The most likely explanation?
A guava seed became lodged within the deep cavity, where moisture and organic material provided conditions suitable for germination.
Following extraction of the tooth, the sprout was identified as a young guava plant.
