We’re growing at Mexborough Dental Surgery and we’re looking for a new member of our team! 💗

We’re looking for either a qualified Dental Nurse or Dental Nurse Apprentice to join us for 15–30 hours per week.

We’re a family-run practice and we’re building a team who want to grow with us. We care about creating a friendly environment for our patients, but also one where our team feel supported, valued and excited to come to work.

The Places You’ll Go 🤍

Three and a half years ago, we took a huge leap.

Ro was the dentist. I was a teacher who wasn’t sure I wanted to return to the classroom.

Then he asked, “What if we bought a dental practice?”

So we started looking.

In February 2023, after a year of CQC, solicitors, finance and endless paperwork, we finally got the keys to Mexborough Dental Surgery. 🔑

Roman was just nine months old, and we had absolutely no idea what we were doing.

Ro learnt the clinical side. I learnt the business side. Together, we worked, learnt, renovated, rebranded and slowly put our own stamp on the practice.

We expanded our private dentistry, introduced new treatments, made our membership plan more affordable and invested in creating something we were proud of.

Last year, we became finalists for the Private Dentistry Awards. To see our little practice in Mexborough recognised alongside some of the best in dentistry was surreal.

And now, that tiny baby who came to dental shows and grew up around the practice starts big school today. 🥹

Somewhere along the way, he became a big brother too.

We’ve come such a long way from those first uncertain days, and we couldn’t have done it without our patients.

When you're a dental practice owner visiting London and stumble across this… 🥹🦷

Today I spotted the blue plaque celebrating Lilian Lindsay — the first woman to qualify as a dentist in the UK, in 1895.

She faced rejection simply because she was a woman, travelled to Edinburgh to study, and went on to become the first female President of the British Dental Association.

Over 130 years later, women are an integral part of dentistry — and we're proud to have our own female dentist, Emily, as part of the Mexborough Dental Surgery team. 💗🦷

From one woman breaking barriers in 1895 to the many women working in dentistry today…

What a woman. What a legacy. 💗

A little bit of magic for our littlest patients! 💕 We’ve made these special little tooth pots for children having an extraction, so they can take their tooth home safely — ready to pop under their pillow for the Tooth Fairy 🧚‍♀️🪥

Or, if they’re not quite ready to part with it, they can keep it as a little memory of their brave visit! 🥰
