Tooth extraction sucks - we know that!

No one wants to have a tooth out but at Mere Dental we always do everything we can to make the experience as smooth, pain free and relaxed for our patients as possible.

We always lead from a preventive care-first approach so we try to preserve natural teeth as much as possible. However, unfortunately there are some situations where tooth extraction is the only course of action.

We understand that having a tooth removed can be daunting for many patients and we don’t take it lightly. We only ever recommend it when we feel it is completely necessary. We pride ourselves on a caring and compassionate approach, which alongside cutting-edge techniques, means tooth extraction is nothing to be worried about and will always be carried out in complete comfort for the patient.

Our team can discuss the whole process with you. We will also go through all your replacement options at an initial consultation. We always recommend replacing a tooth where necessary as missing teeth can lead to further oral health problems, cause difficulties eating and speaking, and affect the aesthetic finish of your smile.
For example, a bridge may be a good option for you. These will usually be placed over 2 appointments, with a wait of a few weeks in between while your personal bridge/prosthetic is made for you.

If you are planning to watch it, don’t forget the safety recommendations in place. Never look directly at the sun without specialised eye protection. Use certified new eclipse glasses if you have them or indirect viewing methods - details of these can be found online.
