In September, we brought our newest early career dentists together at Cloud 23 at the Hilton Deansgate for a fully funded induction designed to help them settle into their next chapter at mydentist. ⁣

Across two inspiring days, our delegates took part in interactive
sessions, career development planning and hands-on workshops with Kerr Endodontics and Elevate.

Day one wrapped up with an evening social overlooking the Manchester skyline, providing the perfect opportunity for delegates to network with speakers and fellow early career dentists before diving into more interactive sessions on day two.⁣

At mydentist, we’re committed to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable accessing the care they need. Understanding the different ways people communicate is an important part of that.

On International Day of Sign Languages, Corryne McNeill, Practice Manager at mydentist New Road, Ludlow, shared 10 British Sign Language (BSL) signs that can help make communication easier in our practices.

BSL is particularly close to Corryne’s heart. She began learning to sign after her son was diagnosed as profoundly deaf, giving her a personal understanding of just how important inclusive communication can be.

The British Deaf Association estimates that around 151,000 people in the UK use British Sign Language, including 87,000 people who are deaf or living with hearing loss.

By learning even a few simple signs, we can all play a part in breaking down barriers, improving communication and creating a more inclusive experience for our patients.

We’re pleased to announce the opening of our new mydentist practice at Parkgate Shopping Centre, Rotherham, following a £2.1 million investment 🎉

The new site brings together our former Effingham Square and Doncaster Road practices, creating a modern dental facility designed to support greater access to care and an expanded treatment offering for the local community.

The practice currently features nine surgeries, with longer opening hours, improved transport links, free parking and enhanced accessibility for patients 🏢

The move also creates greater capacity for the team to deliver a broader range of treatments, including teeth whitening, teeth straightening, dental implants, composite bonding, smile makeovers and facial aesthetics.

Led by Practice Manager Alisia Johnson, the team is now welcoming both existing and new patients to the new location.

The opening represents another significant investment in our practice network and our ongoing commitment to improving access to high-quality dental care across the UK 🦷

Our latest panel discussion brought together some of the leading voices in UK dentistry to tackle exactly that question.

Nyree Whitley, Chief Clinical Officer at mydentist, was joined by Nilesh Pandya, Catherine Rutland and Jason Wong at our Coventry practice to discuss the future of dentistry, including NHS reform, workforce challenges, overseas recruitment and the role the mydentist Foundation can play in improving oral health outcomes.

This International Day of Charity, we’re proud to celebrate our partnership with Dentaid The Dental Charity and the difference we can make together.

You may have seen the news about the launch of the mydentist Foundation, which has enabled mydentist to fund a new environmentally conscious mobile dental unit for Dentaid. Following the fantastic press coverage and an inspiring fireside talk with Catherine Rutland, we’re especially excited to see plans for the unit taking shape.

The new mobile dental unit will help Dentaid deliver vital dental care to vulnerable and underserved communities across the UK.

As Andy Evans, Chief Executive Officer at Dentaid, commented: “This new partnership will allow us to see a huge number of patients and deliver critical dental care to vulnerable groups across the UK.”

Across mydentist, our people give so much of their time and energy to supporting charities and causes in their local communities. We’re proud of everything they do and look forward to building on that commitment through more projects and partnerships in the future.

We’re proud to introduce the mydentist Foundation ❤️

Backed by a commitment of £1 million, the Foundation is designed to tackle oral health inequalities, support underserved communities and create new pathways into careers in dentistry.

From mobile dental units and a partnership with Dentaid The Dental Charity to scholarships and new, enhanced career pathways, we’re taking meaningful steps to widen access not only to accessing care, but also to entering the profession itself.

It has two core aims: the first is to improve oral health for the most vulnerable in our society by supporting local and national charities targeting improved dental provision for communities in need; and the second is to support the most talented people from underrepresented groups to pursue careers within dentistry.

Supporting us in delivering this mission is the mydentist Foundation Ambassador Board.

It’s through our shared partnership, support, commitment and drive that we’re able to launch the mydentist Foundation, and we can’t wait to share our journey with you.

A huge congratulations to the 51 student dental nurses who have successfully achieved their NEBDN qualification following the June 2026 OSCE examinations.

With an 80% pass rate, this milestone is a testament to their hard work, resilience and commitment to delivering excellent patient care. We couldn't be prouder of their achievement.

Hannah Whitworth, Dental Nurse Development Manager at mydentist shared: "A huge congratulations to our 51 newly qualified dental nurses on successfully passing their OSCE and achieving their NEBDN qualification. This is a fantastic accomplishment that reflects their dedication, resilience and commitment to patient care. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

We also remain committed to supporting the learners who were unsuccessful on this occasion, providing guidance, encouragement and tailored support to help them succeed in their resit and achieve their qualification.”

Congratulations to all our newly qualified dental nurses as they take the next step towards GDC registration.
