This International Day of Charity, we’re proud to celebrate our partnership with Dentaid The Dental Charity and the difference we can make together.

You may have seen the news about the launch of the mydentist Foundation, which has enabled mydentist to fund a new environmentally conscious mobile dental unit for Dentaid. Following the fantastic press coverage and an inspiring fireside talk with Catherine Rutland, we’re especially excited to see plans for the unit taking shape.

The new mobile dental unit will help Dentaid deliver vital dental care to vulnerable and underserved communities across the UK.

As Andy Evans, Chief Executive Officer at Dentaid, commented: “This new partnership will allow us to see a huge number of patients and deliver critical dental care to vulnerable groups across the UK.”

Across mydentist, our people give so much of their time and energy to supporting charities and causes in their local communities. We’re proud of everything they do and look forward to building on that commitment through more projects and partnerships in the future.

We’re proud to introduce the mydentist Foundation ❤️

Backed by a commitment of £1 million, the Foundation is designed to tackle oral health inequalities, support underserved communities and create new pathways into careers in dentistry.

From mobile dental units and a partnership with Dentaid The Dental Charity to scholarships and new, enhanced career pathways, we’re taking meaningful steps to widen access not only to accessing care, but also to entering the profession itself.

It has two core aims: the first is to improve oral health for the most vulnerable in our society by supporting local and national charities targeting improved dental provision for communities in need; and the second is to support the most talented people from underrepresented groups to pursue careers within dentistry.

Supporting us in delivering this mission is the mydentist Foundation Ambassador Board.

It’s through our shared partnership, support, commitment and drive that we’re able to launch the mydentist Foundation, and we can’t wait to share our journey with you.

A huge congratulations to the 51 student dental nurses who have successfully achieved their NEBDN qualification following the June 2026 OSCE examinations.

With an 80% pass rate, this milestone is a testament to their hard work, resilience and commitment to delivering excellent patient care. We couldn't be prouder of their achievement.

Hannah Whitworth, Dental Nurse Development Manager at mydentist shared: "A huge congratulations to our 51 newly qualified dental nurses on successfully passing their OSCE and achieving their NEBDN qualification. This is a fantastic accomplishment that reflects their dedication, resilience and commitment to patient care. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

We also remain committed to supporting the learners who were unsuccessful on this occasion, providing guidance, encouragement and tailored support to help them succeed in their resit and achieve their qualification.”

This International Self-Care Day, we're sharing Charlotte's story and how netball helps her feel her best, both in and outside of work.

Charlotte, a dental nurse at mydentist Formby, has played netball since she was 15 and now competes at a professional level.

Celebrating 30 years of Dentaid 🎉

Last week, professionals from across the dental sector came together to mark Dentaid's 30th anniversary and hear more about the charity's impact over the past three decades. The evening showcased its work delivering outreach clinics, oral health education programmes and access to dental care for vulnerable communities.

Representing mydentist at the event, Ingrid Perry, Oral Health Prevention Lead, and Lynne Rhodes, Head of Service Design, were pleased to join the celebrations and hear more about Dentaid's achievements and future ambitions.

📍 Weston-super-Mare, we've opened the doors to our brand-new mydentist practice 🎉

We're excited to announce the opening of our new mydentist Weston-super-Mare practice at Gallagher Retail Park.

Bringing together our former Oxford Street and Beaconsfield Road practices, the new practice has been designed with patient comfort, accessibility and clinical excellence in mind.

Officially opened by Chelsea Pearce, Practice Manager and her team, it marks a significant enhancement for the local community, bringing improved access to dental care for more than 15,000 registered patients.

Patients can now benefit from 13 surgeries, advanced digital pathways, CBCT scanning technology, dedicated treatment coordinator rooms, free parking and improved accessibility, alongside an expanded range of treatments including endodontics, implants, aligners and comprehensive cosmetic services.

Through these additions, mydentist Weston-super-Mare now offers a full range of dental treatments, from NHS care and myoptions to Premium private care.

We look forward to welcoming patients to the new practice.

🎉 Congratulations to Owen Leonard on qualifying as a Dental Nurse at mydentist Woodbridge.

Owen has become the first apprentice dental nurse across mydentist to successfully complete the Tempdent course, marking a significant milestone in our partnership with Tempdent and an incredible personal achievement. Making the achievement even more impressive, Owen completed his apprenticeship eight weeks ahead of schedule, with his qualification originally due in early August.

Reflecting on his journey, Owen said: “Working at mydentist Woodbridge has been one of the greatest chapters of my career so far. I was given the opportunity to complete the dental nurse apprenticeship and this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my mentor Kirsty and my manager Jo Neal. They are both always there for support.

The Tempdent course was very easy to navigate and I believe I have been given the best knowledge and skills available to help me further my career."

Jo Neal, Practice Manager at mydentist Woodbridge, shared: “We at mydentist Woodbridge would like to congratulate Owen on his amazing achievement, especially being the first Apprentice Dental Nurse to qualify through Tempdent. Owen has worked extremely hard and deserves this recognition. All the team at mydentist Woodbridge are extremely proud of Owen."

This Armed Forces Day, we’re celebrating colleagues and clinicians whose careers have been shaped by the British Armed Forces, from those who served to those who trained alongside military teams, and the skills they continue to bring to patient care.
