Are you worried about picking the right shape for your smile? This is one of the biggest worries we hear, choosing the shape of a new smile and then not loving it.

It makes complete sense, and it’s exactly why we work the way we do and have a process.

When you see your new smile for the first time in the chair, if there’s anything you’re unsure about with the shape, we can change it for you.

When Aulona came to see us, she had a design in mind that was square and was set on that.

After really listening to her and looking at her features, we felt a softer, more oval shape would suit her better and feel more like her.

We shaped her composite veneers with her until it felt right and she was happy with the shape.

It’s also why we always do a review appointment.

It gives you a couple of weeks to live with the shape of your new smile and be sure you’re completely happy, and any final tweaks can be made then.

With Aulona, that’s exactly what we did, refining the shape a little more at her review appointment to match her natural teeth and features even more closely and she was super happy with the result.

What makes us different and why we have patients travelling from the US 🇺🇸

Our composite style is all about the natural detail.

Natural teeth already have tiny grooves and textures, so we add these back into the composite to make the final result look more natural.

The shade is completely up to you. You can still choose a whiter shade, but adding in those natural details helps stop the teeth looking flat or fake.

We love creating smiles that still feel like the patient, suit their facial features and enhance what is already there rather than completely changing the way they look.

Real teeth aren’t perfectly smooth, and that’s the secret to a natural smile..

If you look closely at natural teeth, they have tiny indentations, ridges and texture across the surface.

It’s exactly what we focused on with Maya’s design.

Maya wanted to improve her smile, but it was really important to her that the final result still felt like her.

She had our ABC package, which included Invisalign, whitening and 6 composite veneers in our signature style. We started with Invisalign to get the teeth into the right position, then whitened before moving onto the composite.

From there it was all about the detail.

We refined the shapes, balanced the smile and added those natural indentations back in, so everything catches the light the way real teeth do and nothing looks flat.

That’s always the aim with these cases. Not to create a completely different smile, but to understand what already suits someone and elevate it, so it still suits their face rather than changing how they look.

If you’re worried your smile will look “too done”, this is how we keep it natural..

You can have a whiter, brighter smile and still keep it looking natural. The two aren’t opposites, it just comes down to how the composite is finished.

What a lot of people don’t realise is how much of it is about texture. Natural teeth have tiny grooves, contours and reflections that let light interact with the surface, and that’s what makes them look real.

Without that texture, composite will always look flat and lifeless, no matter how well it’s shaped and polished. Flat surfaces absorb light. Textured surfaces reflect it 💡

That’s why we add texture to every single case. We believe the light should reflect within the tooth the way it does with real teeth, so your smile still looks like you, just a better version of it.

Clair had wanted to change her smile for years!

She’d spent a lot of that time focusing on her career and her children, and now she felt ready to do something for herself.

Her teeth had quite a lot of wear on the edges because of the position of her bite, so this wasn’t just about improving how her smile looked.

Claire had our ABC treatment across 20 teeth.

We started by repositioning the teeth into a better biting position, before whitening and rebuilding the worn teeth with composite.

She wanted a whiter, more symmetrical smile, but it was really important that we didn’t lose the identity of her original teeth.

So we kept the individual shapes and added texture and detail to make sure everything still felt natural.

FAQ series 🦷 Post 5 | “Can I get composite veneers if I have an underbite?”

We have had this question a few times in our DM’s.

The honest answer is that it really depends on your bite, and it’s difficult to say much without seeing your teeth first.

POV: you get your dream smile just in time for your wedding

We’ve created so many bridal smiles this summer 👰

Every bride has a slightly different idea of what their dream wedding smile looks like, so we work closely with each patient to create something that feels completely right for them.

For this bride, she wanted to enhance her natural smile with a bright finish, subtle grey tints to keep everything looking natural, and slightly longer central teeth to create the shape she was after.

One thing we always recommend is giving yourself plenty of time before the big day to book your consultation. Some smiles need straightening first, which can add to the treatment time, so the earlier you start planning, the more options you have.

FAQ series 🦷 Post 4 | “Can I get composite veneers if I have a fixed retainer?”

One of the most common questions we get from patients who have a fixed wire behind their teeth.

The short answer is yes, absolutely.

If you’ve got a fixed retainer, all we do is take it off on the day of your composite treatment. Then once the composite is finished and we’ve carefully cleaned in between your teeth, we put the retainer straight back on.

It really is as straightforward as that.

Having a fixed retainer doesn’t rule you out of composite veneers at all. It just means we take care of that little step on the day before we get started.
