Take a look at this new case..

Our patient came to us with two darker front teeth and some older fillings, and like a lot of people, she wasn’t sure whether composite would really be able to cover them.

Here’s her beautiful finished result. A bright, even, completely natural looking smile that she can feel confident in.

Keep an eye out for our next post, where we’ll show you exactly how we covered her two darker teeth 👀

POV: you get your dream smile just in time for your wedding

We’ve created so many bridal smiles this summer 👰

Every bride has a slightly different idea of what their dream wedding smile looks like, so we work closely with each patient to create something that feels completely right for them.

For this bride, she wanted to enhance her natural smile with a bright finish, subtle grey tints to keep everything looking natural, and slightly longer central teeth to create the shape she was after.

One thing we always recommend is giving yourself plenty of time before the big day to book your consultation. Some smiles need straightening first, which can add to the treatment time, so the earlier you start planning, the more options you have.

Your wedding smile should still feel like you, just enhanced! DM to start our smile makeover process ✉️

FAQ series 🦷 Post 4 | “Can I get composite veneers if I have a fixed retainer?”

One of the most common questions we get from patients who have a fixed wire behind their teeth.

The short answer is yes, absolutely.

If you’ve got a fixed retainer, all we do is take it off on the day of your composite treatment. Then once the composite is finished and we’ve carefully cleaned in between your teeth, we put the retainer straight back on.

It really is as straightforward as that.

Having a fixed retainer doesn’t rule you out of composite veneers at all. It just means we take care of that little step on the day before we get started.

Worried about your composite veneers changing colour over time?

One of the biggest things we think about when we treat with composite is making sure the colour stays looking natural and lasts, not just on the day, but for years to come!

What a lot of people don’t realise is that the colour shift usually isn’t the composite itself. It’s the natural tooth underneath quietly showing through, and that’s most noticeable when the composite is kept nice and thin for that natural finish.

So before we build your veneers, we paint on a special base coat first (called an opaquer) to block out the underlying tooth colour. This lets us keep the composite really thin and natural-looking, while keeping the colour bright and consistent for much longer.

Worried about spacing between your teeth?

One of the biggest things we think about when treating spaces is making sure the final smile still looks balanced and natural.

Rather than simply adding composite to each tooth, we first look at the position, proportions and overall shape of the smile.

We straighten the teeth into a better position first, whiten them, and then carefully build the spaces with composite that matches the surrounding teeth.

This allows us to refine the shape, colour and symmetry much more predictably without making the teeth look too wide or unnatural.

FAQ series 🦷 Post 4 | “Can I get composite veneers if I already have fillings?”

A common concern I hear from patients who are considering composite treatment.

The short answer is yes, absolutely.

If you have fillings at the front of your teeth, all we need to do is replace those fillings first so they blend in with the rest of your teeth. We then place the composite over the top as normal.

It really is as straightforward as that.

Having fillings doesn’t rule you out of composite veneers at all. It just means we take care of that step first before we get started.

At the end of every composite veneer treatment, we do this!

We brush the teeth down with toothpaste, wash away all the composite dust, and for the very first time you get to see your new smile exactly as it should look 🪞

It’s one of those moments that never gets old.

After hours in the chair, the patient knows they’re seconds away from seeing their new smile for the first time.

This is our signature composite style 🙏

Our patient had done her research before she came to us and she knew exactly what she wanted.

She specifically asked for indentations to be added to her front two teeth, so they would reflect her natural teeth.

Real teeth aren’t smooth and flat..

They have subtle grooves, texture and indentations that catch the light differently on every tooth, and that’s what makes them look like real teeth!
